Ramsay Bolton a Medieval Patrick Bateman?

Not particularly, no more than any of the many other sociopathic serial killers in fiction. For example Bateman is extremely narcissistic and works on his appearance, whereas Ramsey is unattractive and doesn't seem particularly image conscious. He's much more concerned with causing others extreme prolonged agony. Plus Bateman is obviously secretive about his crimes, while Ramsey barely hides what he does.

What specifically were you thinking of?

Batemans whole thing is being an empty vessel, he sees what society values and reflects them onto himself with quite extreme examples. He's a Yuppy to the Nth degree, he objectifies women, he wants to look like everyones else(to the degree everyone keeps mistaking everyone to everyones else,) dinner reservations and good apartments are everything. Then because none of that gives him pleasure he murders people (in keeping with his created personality.)

Ramsay kills because he has no patience and is insecure.

American Psycho is a work of art, Reeks chapters (whilst bloody good) are not.

I think Roose Bolton is closer to Patrick Bateman than Ramsay.

In intelligence maybe, not in motive. Roose does what he does because he sees a chance to better his position. Patrick does what he does because he enjoys it, it gives him purpose in an otherwise meaningless life.

Ok they are actually markedly different but their love of mindless killing and torture is somewhere they have common ground, surely thats got to count for something?.

I really need to re watch American Psycho I haven't seen it in ages and it's so good.

Ramsey needs to spice up his torture sessions - with monologue reviews of music by Genesis and Huey Lewis and the News. Only then is he Bateman's equal.

I want to read in the WoW Ramsay caving Reeks head in while screaming hysterically "Get reservations at Dorsia now you fuck!!".

Mindless? Even Ramsay isn't tottally mindless. Bateman plans the majority of his killings in advance and has tools laid aside for the job. Ramsay mainly kills and tortures as his whim takes him, but he showed a forethought with Reek he did not have elsewhere.

Have you read the book? If you haven't, please do. It's a fucking masterpiece, far, far better than the film.
