Has anyone found that the search on Amazon for books by publishing date doesn’t seem to work anymore? I used to use this frequently to check out what was coming out, with a longer run way. It doesn’t really work any longer. The change must have happened over the last week.

I asked about this book series in the daily thread but didn’t get a response. I personally am wary of books that use very played out tropes like Elves and Dwarves. I also don’t like the ring of it that’s it’s a farm boy black hat and white hat book, even if there are more nuances along the way. Not to say that the series isn’t great, but I’d love a more strong endorsement from this forum before trying it out.

I’ve been seeing a self published author a lot on my Goodreads. Ryan Cahill? I’ve never heard of his books. Are they actually of good quality or is it just a self published author who is good at getting his name out on the internet? TBH, the description of the books make it sound very derivative,

Unpopular opinion but I could care less about the movie and the series he’s writing now. I want the next First Law book.

I didn’t watch the live stream, but does this self-described "break from writing" confirm that he has not, in fact, written anything prior to this novella for a very long time, as his publisher claimed on Facebook?

I follow Pat’s Fantasy Blog and he has been highly recommending Michelle West. I went on her website and it seems like a few of her series tie together and take place concurrently. What’s the chronological reading order for her books?

He literally calls his fans smelly man boys…. I wouldn’t call the piece interesting at all. There’s not even a point to the article other than to shit on the author. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think he’s the world’s best author but he’s just shit posting. He’s clearly biased…and the way he describes his interaction with fans and Sanderson alike is bizarre. He labels it as “cornering” as if he is Columbo. What do you expect to hear when asking Sanderson’s biggest fans at his convention if they think Sanderson is a crappy writer too. Also, he’s just wrong. Sanderson has been written about in detail and even interviewed on TV a number of times. l think there is a lot of meat on the bone to talk about Sanderson but this is just a hack job.

I don’t know why we still list the doors of stone. At least the other three, we know the authors are working on the books…

Agreed. I think we lose Jon as a POV. The same was true for Catelyn.

I loved the old Valyrian Resin statues that were based on the book depictions of Dany, Ned, and Sandor. I wish they would do more statues based on the books and not the show. The Dark Horse statues were great but I’d rather the depictions were truer to the book depictions. Is there a market for this?
