  1. You know, I really have no problem with ninety nine percent of people coming here and ranting about how much they love the show. Good for you. It's just to bad you can't do it without belittle the people that disagree with you. It's so sad that your so insecure in your believe that the show is so good that you have to attempt to dis-credit any opposing views. It's fine that you love the show for what it is, but at least have the dignity to admit what the show actually is.
  2. And I'm sure you have such a satisfying feeling of acceptance.
  3. At least the positive analyis on this thread is reflective of the show, you know, non-sensicle, void of any logic or reason, just spouting out any ridiculous thing that supports your agenda, It's really the most consistency in relation to the show I've seen in 3 or 4 years.
  4. My complaints with this show have absolutely nothing to with how close it is to the books. Sure, I would like to see it as close as posible, but if it was completely different, but actually good, then I would be happy, and give it praise. Got is a bad show all on it's own.
  5. No, it's nothing at all the same. In response to your post, I would again like to share, as someone who now hates the show, why I still watch it. 1. It's like watching a train wreck, it's a horrible thing, but as per human nature, I just can't turn away. 2. Got used to be, and is supposed to be an adaption of one of my favorite stories ever. At first I watched it for that reason, how awesome to have your favorite books adapted to a visual medium. Unfortunately, D&D have ruined that for me. So as a fan of Asoiaf, I feel a desire to know how D&D are butchering this story, as well as a right to voice my displeasure with it. 3. As ubsurd as I now know it is, a small part of me still hopes against hope that the show will get back to being a quality adaption, and away from being a show about cheap shocks, juvenile dick jokes and gratuitous sex and nudity.
  6. Seeing as, in this thread, you are frowned upon if you don't follow the heard, praising all the ridiculous stuff in this show, blindly ignoring the countless plot holes, character assassinations (by this I mean in show, nothing to do with the book characters), cring-worthy dialoge, and utter stupidity of it all, I won't list all the things I hated about this episode. Most are in denial about any legitimate criticism any way and just ignore it. (kind of how D&D do with all reason and logic) instead, I will only list what I did like. 1. I thought Sophie and Kit did a good job in the Castle Black yard scene. This was the first time in years that this show was able to illicit any kind of emotional response out of me. It was very touching, and as they didn't say anything, I didn't have D&D's awkward, mind numbing dialogue to break my immersion. 2. Uhhmm... Uhh... Yeah sorry, that's all I got.
  7. ...And with good reason, any competent author should and would do everything in their power to distance their work from the horrid writing on the show.
  8. Thanks, but... My interpretation, when I read the book was that GRRM wasnt trying to make the reader think that Jon was actually dead, or not for good anyway. This is well supported by the numerous theories pre-dating this episodes "massive reveal". Not on whether Jon would live, but on how he would survive and how Jon's character and arc would be affected by this experience. As well as at what price. Something completely lost on D&D, as it seems dying hasn't cost Jon anything except a few locks of hair, and only served to free him from the Watch so he can join the rest of Weisseros in their quests for, you guessed it, revenge. So, as I'm convinced that the books will not be anything close to what the show has done, nothing was revealed in this episode, and therefore GRRM has no reason to not let them reveal this, not that George has any control over what the show does anyway. ETA: Besides, it's quite obvious that @Jack Bauer 24's comment was only made to take a cheap shot at GRRM.
  9. Ha, I'm not surprised to learn that, typical show apologist. And what's this massive reveal he/she is talking about, I certainly didn't learn anything about what's going to happen in the books by watching D&D's terrible adaption fan-fic.
  10. It's a little difficult to take that argument seriously when D&D say things like: Themes are for fourth grade book reports.
  11. Exactly, I was accused of being a troll because my vote didn't reflect that Got is a better show than the kardashians. I mean, what the fuck is a Kardashian anyway? I have never seen it, how is my enjoyment of Got reliant on how good some show I've never seen is?
  12. As someone who has an opposing opinion of the show as you, I feel the same way. Seven forbid you try to discuss what is wrong with the show, or what you didn't like, and you are immedietly attacked as being a troll.
  13. And you don't find it predictable that no matter how far the quality of the show drops, there is still drones of people that come on here raving about how great it was? To give a show that undeniably has a lot of huge problems a 10 is just as incomprehensible as giving it a 1. I have no problem with people liking the show and giving it a 10 if they enjoyed watching it, but to blindly deny all the flaws and belittle someone that has a different opinion seems to be all show Apologists can do.
  14. As is seems that there is still a lot of people here that don't think others have a right to vote a 1, I would again like to share, as someone who now hates the show, why I still watch it. 1. It's like watching a train wreck, it's a horrible thing, but as per human nature, I just can't turn away. 2. Got used to be, and is supposed to be an adapt ion of one of my favorite stories ever. 15. @johndance And also, It's one thing to ignorantly lash out at a poster such as myself, but I'm not sure you realize what an ass you make yourself look like by calling Sweetsunray a troll. Maybe you should try reading at least 1 of her 5000 or so posts before making such a ludicrous comment. I would assert that she is one of the most inteligent, influential, and respected posters on these forums. I'm sorry, but you've managed to completely discredit yourself with this one ridiculous post alone.
  16. What, by the half an inch of snow that the show portrayed? Great reason to burn your daughter by the way Stannis. And if someone can explain how Sansa and Reek survived their jump into about a two foot drift, I might raise my vote to 1.5
  17. Here you go again, calling anyone who disagrees with your absurd opinion a troll . If ever I've seen a blacker kettle... Oh, and I'm sure everyone is so heartbroken that you keep threatening to add us to your ignore list. How will we ever go on. Stop making pointless threats for the effect, and please, just add me to your ignore list already.
  18. Right, so any criticism directed towards this train wreck of a show is disregarded as trolling by people that can't seperate the books from the show. How many times have I heard, the books are the books, the show is the show? But if a show lover actually noticed one of the countless problems with this show, it is immediately blamed on GRRM and the books. There is nothing in this season that is related in any way to the books. I refuse to believe anyone blaming this drivel on GGRM has even read the books, let alone a single chapter of GRRM's writing. I can't even take you guys seriously anymore. What a joke.
  19. Sorry, but this is probably the most ignorent comment I've seen to date.
  20. Sorry, but this is probably the most ignorent comment I've seen to date.
  21. Due to the voting limitations, I would like to change my episode 1 & 2 votes from a 1 to a 2 so this episodes' 1 will be more acurate. Didn't think it could get much worse than the last 12 episodes, but I was wrong. There was one good thing about this episode, but I'm a little torn with the feelings I have because I don't think I'm suppose to feel happy watching a young child get hanged. Great job D&D.
  22. Would someone please inform me where I can go to watch the episode being reviewed on this thread. Seriously, I am absolutely floored at how many people are praising this incoherent, juvenile, dribble that was broadcast on my tv. HBO, Sunday night at 9:00 pm, is that right? Are we watching the same show? I'm curious, if you rated this episode a 10, or anything above a 3 really, how did you rate episodes from season 1? Did the scale back then go up to 50?
  23. It's too bad there is an exception to your voting rules when it comes to all the 10 votes, implying that the show is absolutely perfect, without a flaw.
  24. It's funny, I constantly see the argument by show lovers that GOT must be a quality show because so many people like it, and then they turn around and make the argument that I can't rate it a 1 because it's way better than shows like the kardashians. (a show that is quite popular) Hmmm...
