  1. I haven't paid that much attention to him this season, but my feeling is that he's to some extent relying on his pace to recover and Isak's fast and nimble enough that it's not enough to get him there.
  2. I don't really care who thinks what is the best RPG but I have been trying to figure out what Rodrigo meant by 'the best RPG ever made from a genre perspective' because... well, what does that mean?
  3. Have you played Roadwarden? Graphically it's barely a step above text-based games but it's very committed to offering meaningful choices over time. I haven't finished so I can't say exactly how it comes together but it has a good reputation and might be of interest to you.
  4. I'll be honest when I created the topic with this title I wasn't expecting to have to update it this often.
  5. There are obviously some of-the-time issues, but honestly remarkably few compared to other JRPGs of the time. It's incredible how well it's aged. Was just watching this video earlier. I wouldn't necessarily watch the whole thing, but the opening half hour gives a good insight into what makes it so special even now, and certainly at the time, if you're interested.
  6. Every single woman I've ever known who I know well enough to talk about these things with has suffered some form of sexual abuse. Nearly all of them (and by that I mean I know one who is an exception) treat any big social situation, especially in the presence of strangers or relative strangers, as potentially hostile to some extent - scanning the room for other women as potential allies/safe people to talk to if a man gets hostile, knowing where the exits are, that kind of thing. That doesn't happen if that kind of behaviour isn't widespread. That doesn't mean it's literally every party. It just means it could be any party. It doesn't mean it's every man - but could be any man. Like I fully believe it wasn't you or your friends- Conflicting Thought isn't accusing you of that and neither is anyone else. But if you were ever at a big party where you didn't know everyone and people were getting smashed, it may have happened- and if you've been to a few in your life the chances are pretty high that at some point it did.
  7. What does Argylle have to do with Zach Snyder? Anyway MoS is way better than Rebel Moon- it's a good movie. An absolutely shit Superman story, but a good movie. Rebel Moon I did enjoy, and will watch the sequel, but it's pretty bad.
  8. I don't know what the best RPG ever is*, but I really should get back and play Disco Elysium properly. Also maybe one day I'll finally get back to, restart and then finish Planescape: Torment. *Chrono Trigger
  9. Kane's a dirty little shit. There's a reason that horrible tip foul on jumping players is called the Harry Kane Special. Also remember when he swore on his daughters' life that he'd scored a goal he didn't.
  10. This seems to have been a pretty common reaction from game fans. The trailers at least have nailed it, hopefully that's representative. And I've only played 1 and 2.
  11. They showed replays on TNT. It was a clear dive, and a foul by Saka if anything because he booted Neuer in the shin to do it.
  12. Saka had a great game overall but Arsenal really need to bring back Welbeck to teach him how to dive because that was a fucking shambles.
  13. He found the club that shares his values. Can't blame him for that.
  14. Same reason Osama didn't go as a kid. They didn't live near there.
  15. Supposedly he's had the season ticket since the Emirates opened, but also I can't take that dude's rebuttal seriously because he's seen Starmer go 'I started going when I was an adult living in London' and tried to put him down with 'I'm sure you could have afforded it as a barrister'. Like yes, that is what he said.
  16. TIL that Kier Starmer, everyone's favourite politician, is a die-hard, matchgoing Arsenal fan. Dunno if that interests anyone.
  17. Do (enough) people want that though? What does that even really mean at this stage? And can they do whatever it is at a price people actually want to pay?
  18. Nah, Bruno's our best player. By, like, miles. Like it could be Shaw or Martinez, but since they're never fit, he's the only candidate. Sure, there are times that you want to just shake him, and it'd certainly be nice if he could pass calmly. But he's so good as an outlet, not just in terms of himself as a passer, but he's really fucking good at being available when another player is under pressure. We'd be way more pressable as a team if he wasn't in it, even if he as an individual is pretty pressable if a player gets close enough to him as he receives it. It's his off-the-ball movement, not his through-passing, that's really his best skill. I think it's also very notable that he tailors himself to the situation. When he's aware that there are players in the team who can get the ball to him when he's closer to the top, he'll stay there. When there aren't those passers or ball-carriers, he'll drop deeper to receive. In that respect, I really can't make it Bruno's fault when he's dropping into DM. This season, like Solksjaer's last, he's gooning all over the place all the time, but that's a reflection of the team around him as much as him.
  19. Watched the Marvels. It's alright. Bit messy and scrappy and overstuffed, but fun. One thing I did appreciate is the dynamics going on. I've been complaining for ages that MCU films seem to have forgotten the art of random camaraderie or character building that isn't part of, you know, The Arc. This film had a fair bit of that.
  20. A little awkward, but I've gotten two requests so I've done my best to fulfill them.
  21. Liverpool would absolutely have got that penalty even if it hadn't been one, on the balance of the season, but to be fair it's kind of hard to argue with it being one in this instance.
