  1. 8 because of some great acting, but the plot was bit underwhelming. The duel was great, but the build up to it not so much. I would have wanted something else other than the stupid beetle story. Maybe after finally revealing Oberyn's nickname, they could have explained why he was named thus. Also they omitted the detail about the spear
  2. Thank you very much. I have been lurking on the TWC forum for more than a year, but never made an account there. It will be good to have discussions on this forum as well.
  3. Gave it an 8. Would have been a 9, but for the replacing of "Only Cat" with "Your sister" because once again D&D felt they needed to appease the Unsullied, and also because for some reason, the intro didn't have the Eyire, but it did have Braavos.
  4. You have never heard the red shirt/brown pants joke before?
  5. Ha, this was the only time when I wanted to see the show deviate from the books. One of the ironborn should have totally split Ramsay's skull.
  6. I gave it 8. Maybe it deserves a 9. What I didn't like about the Asha/Yara was the whole logistics of it. Every episode the intro shows us where storylines are taking place, but they don't seem to care on how a character gets from A to B. How did Asha get from the Iron Islands to the Dreadfort without anyone catching her? Still +1 for her using an axe and not a sword, and we finally got to see some badass ironborn. I also didn't like Daenerys and Hizdhar much. The rest was great.
  7. Not a book reader, eh? With regards to Jon not knowing about Rast, it's implied that he knows. It's a technique often used in film making. I have no idea what Locke was going to do with Bran, but you don't really need to tie up a cripple. Also Rickon is still alive, and maybe Locke was going to ask Bran about that. As to the rest, especially LF and Lysa, I suggest you read the books. LF is quite the clever fellow.
  8. 8/10 because I was feeling generous, but it could go as low as 6/10.
  9. A solid 8, if not factoring in the book. A 1 if thinking of the book. But not thinking of the book, I liked most of the episode minus the anti-climactic taking of Meereen.
  10. When you obsess on a daily basis about ASOIAF, it's kinda hard to see the show in a different light and not compare it to the books. Personally, I've gotten better at separating the two, but they will never be fully separated. Unlike in the first two seasons, I have started with the 3rd season to appreciate the non-book stuff, but I still cheer and clap when a favorite scene from the books is well portrayed. So that's that.
  11. Sansa's escape = 8 - what was up with Littlefinger's accent? Margaery & Olenna = 6 - not a bad scene, but nothing special either The Sept of Baelor = 10 - between Tywin immediately taking Tommen under his wing and the one sex scene that was not gratuitous, this was excellent Arya & The Hound = 10 - great chemistry between the two Sam & Gilly = 6 - more awkwardness from Sam, but interesting setup with Mole's Town Dragonstone = 7 - started with more Stannis butchery but he did say one line the real Stannis would have said (the pantry line, not the history book line) + Shireen continues to impress and +1 for Monty Python reference The Brothel = 1 - seems the Red Viper is getting the Stannis treatment from the writers; at least they finally touched on his poison knowledge; still no mention of his nickname Tyrion & Pod = 10 - very touching and great acting The Wildling Attack = 6 - the cannibalism is going a bit too far, but a fairly good action scene Castle Black = 9 - Other than reducing the NW's numbers much more than they should have, the rest of the scene was pretty good; Kit continues to impress this season Daenerys = 7 - Meereen looks great; I was not too impressed with the duel (too short, and the whole positioning was a bit awkward); nice use of mangonels, though I hope they won't have the slaves do all the fighting Average grade = 7.3/10, rounding down to 7 for the vote.
  12. 9.5/10 Liked everything except the blue rose. Only one woman should have that, and her name is not Daenerys Targaryen.
  13. Other than Third Age and Stainless Steel I have not tried any of these mods. I know Planet War was recently released, and it just looks weird. Some of the other ones, like the Kingdoms Grand Campaign, look very similar to Stainless Steel. And I've just noticed they are working on a 7.0 version for SS. Nice! Also that Arthurian mod is for Rome TW, not Medieval 2, so make sure you have that installed. There is also a Warhammer mod. I have not tried it, though. If are going to try Third Age, make sure to also install Patch 3.2 and try the sub-mod MOS which adds a bunch of cool stuff.
  14. 9/10. Almost perfect, and certainly one of the most entertaining episodes thanks to Tyrion the Drunk. Also, I couldn't help but applaud to the Sam the Slayer scene. The way the Other broke the steel sword and then himself got shattered by the dagger was amazing. Wish we had Coldhands in there, though. He might still show up otherwise how will Sam find the hidden door in the Wall.
  15. 7/10 The Wall climb was excellent, Ros's death was a shocker (because that's about the only thing that can shock us readers), Bolton, Jaime and Brienne scene was good, as was Ramsay's torture of Theon. The guy is very much more than a match for Joffrey in the psycho rankings. The rest of the episode was kinda weak. Didn't like the Melisandre showing up and taking Gendry, not because it was far off from the books, but simply because the plot moved in a non-sensical way. Even Melisandre with her fires would not have been able to find the BWB. Oh, and did Loras really say "French sleeves?" Cause if he did, that would definitely make it the worst line in the entire series.
  16. TEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Despite the diminishing of Loras's character and the dead babies (that was a WTF moment) Pleasantly surprised at seeing Yunkai on the map, as well as Grey Worm. The fight between the Hound and Beric was excellent, but the highlight was Jaime's story and how it ended "My name is Jaime"
  17. 10/10 just because of the Queen of Thorns and the mention of Howland Reed. Catetlyn's scene with what's her name could have been much worse, but thankfully it wasn't.
  18. I think 7/10, with the Tyrion/Tywin dialogue and Barristan being the high points of the episode. Margaery playing Mother Teresa and Robb at Harrenhal the lower points.
  19. 8/10 This episodes had ups and downs. One definite up was the last scene. All morning the "Three Blasts" theme played in my head, as did that image of the Other. The House of the Undying was not bad, especially the image of the throne room, because that is how I imagine it will look like at one point before the end of the series. Worst parts: the sack of Winterfell and the ruining of Robb's character (and as always Ros)
  20. Regarding Hollywoodizing Stannis and other major characters in any movie/show, it's the fact that they rarely given them helmets. Stannis could have had his head crushed. But this episode: 10 10 10 10 10, 10 on everything!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
