It has been a long time! It's good to see you too, and yes being a homeowner does feel good despite all of the bills and annoyances that come along with it. 

Jam making sounds like a great thing to get into. You can never have too much jam.

I’m all right, thanks. This has been a rather difficult year but I’m trying to scramble out on the other side. We do have an exciting autumn as my best friend is getting married and we have related events every weekend till the big day. It’s nice to have something happy and beautiful in the horizon.

I'm going to North Carolina for my cousin's wedding but that's only for a couple of days. After I get back I'll just be staycationing for the rest of the week. Sorry to hear you've had a rough year, I hope things start looking up. Congratulations to your best friend on the wedding!

I'm enjoying the dragon show quite a bit but I am and have always been a Targ fan so it's tailor made for me. It feels good to have a weekly 'event' TV show again. Reminds me of when GoT was still good!  

Sorry to hear that Bucky. I hope your symptoms stay mild and you recover quickly. 

I got sick for the first time since all this kicked off a few weeks ago myself. Wasn't covid in my case thankfully. First time I ventured into a big crowd with no mask on and bam, infected. I'm never taking my mask off in public again.

Ha, I've been of the mind from the start that Jeff isn't actually cheating on Shauna and that something else is going on with his sneaking around and the woman at the hotel. Didn't have any actual guesses on what it was but I like the call that he's involved in the blackmail plot. 

I was initially pretty shocked at Shauna saying she didn't like her daughter in front of this woman who is still grieving her own, it felt so cruel. But then seeing how awful Jackie's mom is to her my thoughts quickly changed to 'get her ass'. That scene actually made me like Jeff, who just seemed like such a douche before. 

I am still really hoping things don't go in a supernatural direction.

I'm doing alright. Work remains busy as hell, and ongoing anxiety over the state of things never gets any more fun. But being vaxxed and boosted and able to see people again now and then has been nice. Though now with omicron I guess it's time to go hermit mode again.

I've been enjoying this show a lot more than I originally thought I would. Although to be honest I become somewhat less interested as they started hinting at some grand conspiracy beyond whatever awful shit the girls themselves got up to out there and are trying to cover up. Christina Ricci is the absolute highlight of the show for me. She's got that faux-cheerful menace down to a science that makes my skin crawl. 

I'm glad the creators have a specific roadmap in mind, even if five seasons sounds like a lot at the outset. My biggest fear with this show (as with anything Showtime touches) is that they'll drag it out for years past the point when it should have ended until it's a miserable ghost of its former self. I still can't believe they necro'd Dexter.

I still don't think the book ever comes out but getting the prologue was neat.

I have a new job since about four months now (wow, has it really been that long?), so that's good, but we have been under lockdown for two months in this country and the covid stats don't seem to be improving, so that sucks.

Covid numbers only ever get worse here in the good old USA. Especially in Florida. I've been having stress dreams about it too.

Its been a lot of ups and downs this year. My mom was diagnosed with Alzheimer's, and that's probably been the single hardest thing. Some other illness in the extended family but somehow we've all managed to avoid covid so far. 

On the other hand I bought a house at the beginning of the year, and I've been fortunate enough to keep my job through all the madness of 2020 so I can keep the mortgage paid. I never thought I would be a homeowner. I've been living here for 10 months and it still doesn't feel real. 

All things considered I can't really complain. With everything happening this year I've been incredibly fortunate. 

How are you doing? 

Happy belated birthdays to Rhaenys & Bucky. It has been a hell of a year, friends. I hope all of you are healthy and safe. 

And remember, the spam can never truly die. It will live on in all of us.

I didn't realize until now that more than one judge had given Jones round 2. I thought all three of them gave him 3,4,5 and only the one lunatic who scored it 49-46 gave him the second. 

That is wild. Reyes dominated the first two rounds. I don't understand judging in this sport. 

MMA judging is shockingly bad. Reyes won that fight. 

49-46 is a fucking crime. When they announced that score I said 'holy shit he did it' because there's no way anyone could give Jones four rounds in that fight right? Nobody's that incompetent. Boy was I wrong. Apparently it was the same judge who Rogan and Cruz called out during an earlier fight for not even watching, and who fucked up several other decisions last night. 

I hope they're never allowed to judge an MMA fight again. The other judges were wrong too, but at least wrong within the realm of understanding. 

I'm so glad that piece of shit lost, and in true MAGA fuckhead fashion of course he's whining about it and pretending he didn't blatantly poke Usman in the eye lol. 

It was one of the best fights of the year though, honestly. I'm incredibly bummed about Max

Next year I will check in a bit earlier to see if we can make it happen. I would be happy to take over organizing if need be. 

I was hoping Ruiz would win again but I can't say I'm surprised at all with how the rematch went down. 

Last night's UFC card had some weirdness. Multiple draws, Tan Dan seemingly talking Struve into continuing the fight before he got KO'd and Reem losing in the most Reem way imaginable. Not to mention suffering one of the nastiest cuts I've ever seen. His lip just fucking exploded. 

I hope we can get it going again this year. If there's anything I can do to help with the organization I'm happy to volunteer. 

Did all the fighters get together backstage and agree that nobody's tapping tonight what the hell? I've never seen so many people get choked out on one card before. And the stoppages are coming late too. 

God dammit Robbie please beat this piece of shit... 

ETA: My disappointment is immeasurable and my day is ruined. 

Here's hoping Usman gives him a taste of his own medicine I guess. 

Wooooow. Switched over to the boxing just in time to see Joshua get dropped twice and waved off. 

Gus retiring is sad but I think it's the right call. He just hasn't been the same in his last two fights. Definitely looked like he's just over it.
