  1. I know a lot of people are saying Ser Barristan will die in the Battle of Mereen b/c there are too many POV characters there and he is the least important moving forward.  That may very well be true in terms of being the least important.  Victarion just spent an entire book sailing there, there are significant unanswered questions about the horn, his relationship with Euron, etc.  Yet, others have had journeys, unanswered questions, and died quickly too.  Maybe Victarion is only there to bring the horn, the Dusky woman - who is really a Warlock in disguise, and Black Flame to Dany.   Plus, GRRM has complained that the show has killed off and/or eliminated many characters who have a lot more to do.  He specifically mentioned the Tyrell sons other than Ser Loras.  If Euron is attacking the Reach, Ser Garlan will be a major player in that battle.  But, I think Ser Barristan still has a part to play as well.  If Septa Lemore is Ashara Dayne then Ser Barristan musts need to see her with Aegon before the end of the series.  Mayhaps it's just fantasy silliness that makes me believe that Ser Barristan also needs to die on Westeros where people see him die to crystalize his legacy.  The last anyone knows of him, he killed a few Gold Cloaks and fled KL.  That's not the stuff of legends.  Jaime's chicken scratch in the White Book of Ser Barristan's death in battle bringing the rightful monarch to the throne or even Ser Barristan's writing of his own return to KL as the LC of the Kingsguard would be the right thing. Also, Tyrion dreams of a major battle in Westeros in which he fights besides the Golden Company (Bittlersteel) and Ser Barristan, with dragons flying overhead.  See Barristan leads the army and Tywin leads Tyrion's opponent- obviously impossible. He slays Jaime.
  2. How would you rate episode 306?

I only enjoyed the casting of the Freys and the parlay between Ser Jaime and Lord Bolton. Otherwise, it was just BS wasted time, when they could have told the story of the Knight of the Laughing Tree and moved other things forward based upon the source material. I guess Tyrion now has motive for the Purple Wedding. But, otherwise, it was one-on-one dialogs telling things that shouldn't be said. Reek, reek, it rhymes with weak episode.
  3. How would you rate episode 305?

Let me clarify. It was the scene with Gendry I was disappointed with. The scene with Beric and Thoros was very good.
  4. How would you rate episode 305?

Did anyone transcribe the lyrics to Shireen's Patchface song? Any mention of fool's blood, king's blood, blood on a maiden's thigh?
  5. How would you rate episode 305?

Also, that duel b/w Beric and Sandor was unreal. Made all other duels a joke so far.
  6. How would you rate episode 305?

They've made Arya a little soft and Maise had a little trouble with the material. Beric was awesome. Jaime and Brienne was great. I even liked Selyse, but where's the stache. And, that Patchface song at the end sung by Shereen was erie.
  7. I was despondent last week with all of the made up scenes that overwrote good scenes. This episode was great. Loved the Bastard building trust with Theon and drawing it out. That's going to be terrific. Thapphireth!
  8. Way too much made up stuff when they have too much material to adapt that they're ignoring. Hated the episode.
  9. [TWoW Spoilers] Barristan

I don't necessarily think it means death for Ser Barristan. He was the only second tier or higher character left alive inside Mereen. Someone had to tell the story inside the gates, the escape of the dragons, etc. I think he could easily be reunited with a first tier character and then no longer be needed as a narrator. If he's with Dany or Tyrion he doesn't need his own voice. Who needs Damphair? Victarion may not been needed soon either or he may die. Or perhaps Arienne once she meets up with Connington.
  10. Being genderless in Old Valyrian Valonqar could mean Little Sister or Little Sis. Arya. Who, as a Faceless Man (or woman/girl -again they come from Old Valyria so it's really Faceless Person) will use the strangler poison to kill Cersei. She's done it before and it seems like a very common tool for assassination.
  11. What Varys Doesn't Say in the Epilogue...

Except why would they also be supporting Viserys and Dany? Before Dany was Queen in her own mind/right, her brother was ahead of her. What if Viserys had stayed with Illyrio until the Dothraki were ready to invade Westeros?
  12. How would you rate episode 209?

The Rains of Castamere was awesome and even moreso in the credits. Tyrion alluding to a wedding being the worst thing in life. Terrific. Varys talking about being cut and the dark arts. Nice touch. Everyone was pitch perfect- Tyrion, Cersei, Bronn, Sandor, Sansa, Stannis, Davos and no BS in the other parts of Westeros and Essos despite the credits map. Totally blown away.
  13. If she doesn't kill someone it's going to be very, very disappointing.
  14. Significantly better than the previous two. Finally hitting its stride. Kept to a few storylines, not scattered all over to make everyone feel a part. I like that Dany has been sidelined b/c her chapters were not very big in CoK IMO for movement of her plot. I like that Robb is only mentioned and not shown. I like that the Kinglsayer is spoken of and not shown. I like that they stuck to some key conversations from the book. Tyrion's plot to test the council was well paced for TV. Yoren was outstanding. Even the added scenes were strong and didn't seem out of character, unlike last week with Stannis and Littlefinger. Very pleased. A 9.
