  1. I've seen a few posters around here with .gif avatars, but I've been trying to upload one for ages. It's always saying that the file's too large. Do I have to do it via Gravatar, or what?
  2. Two kings will fall this season, it seems. We have the Red Wedding in the next episode, and from what we've seen in the trailers, Yara's story is continuing in Season 3 - which only makes sense if they plan on Balon biting the dust this season too.
  3. What I liked most this episode was Dragonstone. In the previous episodes, I thought they were killing Stannis' character, but this more than made up for it. I think it redeemed him in the eyes of the viewers, and I'm glad they don't portray him as a villain who doesn't care for anything anymore. He freed Davos because he knew killing Gendry was wrong. That's why he needs Davos by his side - to be his voice of reason. :lmao:
  4. I thought the wedding was perfect! Just as awkward as it should be. Peter Dinklage did a great job of playing a drunk Tyrion, I loved his constant drunken babbling. When he said that he'd vomited on a girl once... Sophie Turner was great as well. Even though Sansa didn't have as many lines as Tyrion, we could see how uncomfortable she was just through her facial expressions and body language. She was great. I loved the scenes on Dragonstone, especially Stannis' talk with Davos in the dungeons. I had started to lose hope for Stannis after the last couple of episodes, but I think the scene with Davos redeemed him in the eyes of the viewers. He knew killing Gendry was wrong. That's why he went to Davos - so he can be his voice of reason. Also, Stephane Dillane and Liam Cunnigham are just perfect together! I hope we'll see them together again soon. Sam the Slayer! What a great way to end the episode! The only thing that could have made it better was Coldhands. Hopefully we'll see him by the end of this season.
  5. A perfect 10. This is easily my favorite episode of the show so far. Everything was great, but the ending just took my breath away.
  6. I though Barristan's reveal was kind of rushed. I know we only have 10 episodes and they need to introduce the important characters early on, but they could have waited till next episode. It would be great if it ended like a cliffhanger, with a hooded man following Dany in the streets of Astapor, and then reveal him next week, or whenever they go back to her story arc. It doesn't matter to me that they've cut Belwas. I always thought of him as kind of annoying. Barristan was the exciting half of the duo, so I'm happy he's back this season.
  7. 9/10 I loved the episode. The new characters were great, especially Tormund. To be honest though, Ciaran Hinds wasn't the kind of Mance I expected. I mean, he's a great actor and all, and he did a great job, but Mance isn't supposed to be so...regal. I don't know, maybe it's because of Rome, but I think Hinds made Mance look like Caesar. I was very happy to see that they're giving Michael McElhatton more screentime. Roose is a crucial character this season. I hope they expand his story a bit. He's a brilliant actor, and I can't wait to see his character development leading up to the Red Wedding. Also, I fell in love with Astapor the second I saw it. It looks so beautiful, and yet, so terrifying. For a second, I thought the actor who plays Kraznys was Ben Kingsley. :P He didn't fit the description in the books at all, but I don't think that's a bad thing. In fact, it's an improvement. I also loved the Valyrian dialogue. I'm so glad Dany's ruse made the cut. :D Stannis and Davos didn't get all that much screentime, but I was still very happy to see them both in the first episode. Both Dillane and Cunningham did a great job. They're defeated, they've lost everything, but they keep on fighting. The actors did a great job of portraying that. The only downside to the episode was the absence of Jaime, Brienne and the Stark kids. It's understandable, but I would have liked to see a glimpse of Jaime and Brienne nonetheless. Anyway, it was a great season premiere. Game of Thrones is just blowing every other show out of the water. I can't wait for the second episode. .
  8. Hi everyone! :) I'm Alex and I'm from a little European country called Macedonia. I found out about ASoIaF after watching the first episode of Game of Thrones on HBO. I was really hooked, and I read all five books in about two months. I discovered Westeros.org last year, and I've been lurking here ever since. :P I mostly like reading fantasy and techno-thriller novels, watching TV and playing video games. I'm looking forward to participating in the discussions here. :)
