  1. just typed a long post that got deleted/not saved. add frustration to sadness and anger over the episode! wow. I wished Grey Wind would've been able to take a few heads, throats and arms with him before he succumbed instead the frey animals slaughtered him like a beast of burden in a cage! They made the right choice ending with Catelyn though. Instead of, say Arya being hit over the head by the hound. Man that was affecting!!!! Watching Lady Catelyn just stand their in silence..with no music either from the scene or hbo.....and then...... I love Michelle Fairley - she's a GREAT actress!!
  2. Fuck!!!!! Man............. I'm not quite sure what to say yet....I need the communion of fellow ASOIAF followers. I need a minute.
  3. If you say so - I just remember in "Gangs of New York" when Daniel Day Lewis put that knife to his eyeball - he used an actual knife with no special effects. and unlike the hand-cutting part of the scene, the knife to the eye looked especially real.
  4. I am such a Nikolaj-Coster Waldau fan because of GOT - you HAVE. NO. IDEA! :)
  5. Valar Morghulis/Valar Dohaeris are common expressions in the free cities - and even though it would be a foreign language to a Westerosi - it would be the equivalent of telling an american, "C'est la vie" - he or she may not speak french but they would know what that phrase meant.
  6. I'd honestly say...a 10 outta 10! for real. loved how they condensed the riverrun scenes - very effective. Shows how Robb's a brilliant strategist/tactician and was betrayed - in the book he was betrayed by Roose Bolton - who was the guy that did the blunder move on the show - didn't catch the name - but Robb dealt with him WELL. and I loved the funeral scene - touching, funny - the blackfish was well cast - and the beautiful blanket that covered Hoster Tully! The colors, the texture - wow!
  7. GREAT fucking episode - from beginning to end! I loved every minute of it!!!!
  8. Yep - that's it. and it's not D&D's fault - it's HBO's. D&D are doing what they can - but 1000 DENSE, complex, complicated, detailed pages into 10 episodes? and on a limited budget?? I've said it before..I'll say it again--yes, we applaud HBO for putting the money up to do this in the first place - but if you're going to do it at all - why do it 75% of the way when you can do it 100% and you (easily) have the money to do it. Why not 13 episodes - at a bigger budget. More narrative tension. Robert's Rebellion. The Battle of The FIst of The First Men. All the things that had to be skipped or rushed over. Letting things flow in a non-rushed or disjointed fashion. I love the episodes of GOT but I just know how they could have been even better. Why not give D&D the latitutde to go an extra 20-25 minutes on an episode if the content warrants it? Let each scene BREATHE. So we don't feel like we're rushing through them and each subsequent scene can have more impact! But still - having said all that - I applaud what the great actors of the series have been able to do with what they have been given. I would love to see MORE. If only the execs at HBO would've given them the time & money with which to do more.
