Landed Knight

Landed Knight (6/8)

  1. And to anyone saying it was "in character" guess again. "It may be that we shall lose this battle," the king said grimly. "In Braavos you may hear that I am dead. It may even be true. You shall find my sellswords nonetheless." The knight hesitated. "Your Grace, if you are dead — " " — you will avenge my death, and seat my daughter on the Iron Throne. Or die in the attempt." Ser Justin put one hand on his sword hilt. "On my honor as a knight, you have my word."
  2. Remember in previous seasons when people used to make those "Stannis: a balanced review [book spoilers]" topics? And when everyone said stannis fans were overreacting and that D&D weren't butchering his character and we should just wait till the later seasons when Stannis starts doing good things? Someone better pick up that phone because we fucking called it. The writing was on the wall they were going to ruin his character somehow like this. Ever since they changed his motivations behind his burnings from penalty for treason and deserting the nights watch to burning because infidels and refuse to bend knees we should have known. Heck they fucking changed his motivation for rescuing the wall from his noble duty bound protecting the realm mindset to doing w/e Mel tells him too and still we clinged to some small vestige of hope they would do the character justice. But but in the books Stannis isn't a believer he's a skeptic and only keeps mel around because she could possibly be an asset. Hush now, stanstans, just because the show is depicting him as a fanatic doesn;t mean they'll ruin his character.. oh wait, noooo............ We were fucking right. Fuck this show. https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1XZaAhSx8fg4y1JZHIsuSDyNWDgEnvNDDz8pX7ihmrrg/viewanalytics?usp=form_confirm
  3. I really liked it. The trial scene was great. the Stannis Davos Braavos scene was great. Salhador Saan is back! Hizdar zo loraq was well done in the Dany scene. (calm down my lovelies, we'll see the dragons roast a kid later, they need an excuse to cage the dragons they can't afford to cut that out). I liked seeing asha (yara) again, but I didn't like the pointless subplot they made up out of thin air for her. Everything else was great, but that made up just for the show raid on the dreadfort was really poorly done. therefore 8/10
  4. I think the child being roasted will come later. I don't think they'd cut that. They need an excuse to cage the dragons after all.
  5. 1. good job on the LF lysa dynamic 2. Didn't like the change with the lannister gold mines running out. This is a change from the books because we know when Robb is plundering the westerlands, the captures some of the gold mines and the gold is flowing. The only mines that had failed that we know of were the mines belonging to the crag. 3. handled the crasters keep sub plot well, good thing keeping jon and bran apart 4. White washing Dany some more, she doesn't have ships in the books. They all sailed away before she captured the city, so she didn't have a choice, she had to stay. Of course they change this to make dany look better so she "chooses" to stay behind and try to make things right. 5. Didn't like Arya including beric dondarrion, and thoros of myr to her death list. 6. Locke's death seemed abrupt 7. how the fuck they're going to do this 50 ironborn attacking the dreadfort subplot, not from the book, baffles me 8. Stannis is going to bravos... i'd heard it but now it seems to be happening for sure, will be interesting to see how this pans out All in all, the show is straying further and further from the books. This might be a good thing though, since the show will likely catch up to GRRM before he finishes the series, maybe its for the best if it has its own, unique, completely different ending. So, instead of nitpicking in the future, I'm going to try to enjoy the show more for being its own unique breed.
  6. Liked this episode the least out of the first 3 so far. Those Sam and Gilly scenes were numerous and boring...
  7. Loved the purple wedding. Although wish the necklace had been more "obvious"? Nice character building on the Boltons, Reek, and three eyed crow. BUT WHAT THE FUCK. They have continued to Butcher Stannis... like wtf wow. He burned them for TREASON, for making secret deals with the Lannisters, not for their religion. WTF!!! Thats totally BS. Stannis was never religious, he only uses Mel as a means to an end, he's never a believer himself. WTF. Fucking horrible. I think the thing that confuses me the most is that it was GRRM who wrote this episode. Why would he change Stannis like that...
  8. I think I may have found the inspiration for Ser Arthur Dayne. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/William_Marshal,_1st_Earl_of_Pembroke
  9. I thought Episode 4 hit the target on the bullseye but episode 5 blew episode 4 out of the water! Loved the Jaime/Briene bath scene with Jaime revealing his side of the story behind his "finest act." Also the Lannister family scene at the end was superbly well done. Tyrion and Cersei throw their jabs but at the end of the day there's no doubt in anyone's minds that Tywinn is in charge. Great stuff!
