3- Underrated. Has the best writing, best directing. This season is Magic. Everybody talks about Kissed by Fire and The Rains of Castamere. but The Climb is also one of my favorite epispodes ever.
4- Adapting the most crazy part in the books, they did a really good job. intense, entertaining. Great television.
2- Had a lot of good homour and expended the universe to some wonderful charcatcers. Also, best Tyrion season and Blackwater remains this series's best episode.
1- For me it follows the book a bit too closely, and it feels a bit flat at times, like the acting is too subtle.
5- Didn't hate it all, thought it was only "good". Still some wonderful scenes.
Last season was absoulutly astonishing in terms of writing, directing and acting, regardless of the slow plot progression. I don't think any season of GOT will ever top this perfection, I remember going "ahhhhh so good" after every single scene.
This one is great too, though.
Probably the most under-rated episode of the show ever. Extremely well done in every aspect- Littlefinger's speech, The wall climbing, Jamie and Brienne's dinner, Tywin vs. Olenna. Amazing writing and execution in this one, maybe my favorite episode.
I don't understand how you can give less than 8 to KL. Of course the plot wasn't very exciting, that's because it's not very exciting in that part of the book either. But the acting and writing were so god damn good, So many wonderful and entertaining scenes. Good stuff.
1. Blackwater has to be first, best hour of television I've seen, tied with the finale of season 4 of breaking bad.
2. The Rains of Castamere- the more I think about it the more I think they did the RW, and the entire set up to it, justice. Horrific.
3. The Climb- here comes the surprising choice. One of the least favorite of the series, but for me it was AMAZING in terms of writing and characters depths. The montage at the end with Littlefinger's "Chaos is a ladder", the death of Rose, and the last shot on both sides of the wall... beautiful. Plus, Jamie and Brienne eating dinner with Bolton, The only good torturing scene of the season ("you forgot to ask if I was a liar") and the two Red Pristes meeting. Such an underated episode. shame.
I feel like you went for the more "epic" scene, well the creators went with something more brutal and sudden. To me, I think that's what made the scene so special. Drums, the song in the background and everything you suggested would have made it more of a cliche, I personally perfer the version of the show, which is more unique and horrifying.
10/10 for me. Perfect finale, and I was so glad we didn't see LS. just not the right time. So the ending scene wasn't that great, big deal, I can live with that. The rest of the episode was really well directed.
I don't know if it's *the best*, because there are many obvious good scenes (Wildfire, RW etc), but for me the scene that stood out was the entire "Chaos is a ladder " montage, including the last shot of the 2 sides of the wall. Beautiful.
