  1. I gave it a 7, wasn't horrible but wasn't really that great either. Equal to last weeks episode, I guess I came into the final two episodes with really high expectations and was just let down by the quality of the writing. Hopefully D&D can improve their writing skills if the show passes the book, because if they can't, I don't think the show will be worth watching.
  2. I thought the season finale, like last weeks episode was weak. I don't think it's just the changes to the books but rather that D&D seem to be rather weak writers when it comes to coming up with original material. For example IMO the Robb/Talisa romance arc was bad from season 2 to season 3 with not one redeemable scene. To start it off I was expecting Lady Stoneheart, it was obviously the best ending to this season, and thinking back on I'm pretty sure D&D would agree. After everybody getting pissed off at the Red Wedding they needed something to cheer them up, Danys scene didn't fill that hole, in fact Dracarys was far superior to this Mhysa scene we got, maybe if it happened in the same episode that Dany took Yunkai it would matter more, but it just seemed out of place. I did like Sam/Bran scene, though without Coldhands and the Weirwood door it just wasn't as good as it should have been. It seems to me that D&D just hate the Old Gods, Weirwoods are lacking, going back to Robbs wedding last season. The one thing I do like better than the books is Jaime coming back before the wedding. With the right writing, Jaime/Joffrey, Jaime/Tyrion, Jaime/Oberyn should all be gold.
  3. I gave it a 6. I think it was an average episode. It was not what I expected at all when you get D&D saying the reason they wanted to do the series was because of that scene and it just didn't deliver IMO. If that's the quality to be expected, I don't see myself watching the show if it passes by the books.
  4. The worst part of the episode was the way they killed Grey Wind, I was hoping for Arya to open up that cage and let him kill some Freys, but nope they just decided to kill him without him getting any kills. I'm just glad Summer and Shaggy got some action earlier in the episode. I liked the Bran scenes though, loved how he warged Hodor and shut him up. Also I loved the look Orell gave to the window when the warging was going on, kind of like how he knew something more was happening then. But I really thought Orell would be the one to tell Jon Snow he's a warg, I guess it's up to Sam to tell him now. Speaking of Sam, where is Coldhands? He's pretty much at the wall, and he knows about the Black Gate from a book already. I guess he's going to show Bran the door and sometime next season Coldhands will save Bran/Meera/Jojen and Sam will never meet him.
  5. Last week I didn't think I'd like not-Vargo. But now I do. So I'm going to take the not away from his name and just call him Vargo. Since I can't even recall him being called Locke. Vargo it is. Nice to see Pod getting some, maybe this will change the relationship between him and Brienne in future seasons
