  1. Which was to an extent based on Atlantis...
  2. Agree with this bit also The Valyrians are GRRM's Dwarves.
  3. Even the "Old Gods" are Lovecraftian in origin and I don't just mean the names. http://asoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/topic/35549-cthulhu-reference-in-asoiaf/ http://asoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/topic/91069-lovecraft-and-the-old-gods/?hl=lovecraft
  4. This might seem out of the blue..... I believe Varys is heavily based off of Shakuni(A character from the Mahabharata) or at least bears an uncanny resemblance to in terms of motives and characterizations especially if the Blackfyre conspiracy turns out to be true.
  5. Yep,the reversal is the most interesting bit about it though.
  6. She will die before or in the first part of ADOS sure but how is this akin to Joan,She was burnt at the stake if I'm not wrong.
  7. Explain this one please,I can't see the parallel.

  9. Been my guess too,but the word Arakh may also come from the Turkish Orakh which apparently means sickle.
  10. Could be but it needs a bit of reaching,Smeagols transformation is because of his proximity and desire for the ring but Theons transformation is due to physical and mental torture by Ramsay,Unless you want to equate Ramsay with the Ring,It's a bit of stretch.
  11. Arianne says the Dragon is time in AFFC,while talking of House Tolands sigil.
  12. Galadon of Morne is probably a Arthurian reference probably to Galahad.
