  1. But how long is it going to take Asha/Yara to get to the Dreadfort by sea? Look how long it took the Redwynes to get back from Dragonstone, and that's not nearly as far. The show kind of dispenses with geography when it's convenient...also the fact that most people can't run as fast as a horse (apparently Ygritte can....)
  2. Yeah, nothing magical about that gate - as wide and straight as a tunnel on the Pennsylvania Turnpike. :frown5: I think the FX budget was exhausted, is how I explain that one.
  3. Ghost is still north of the Wall...he rejoins Jon when Jon gets back to Castle Black, IIRC.
  4. Not a fan of book Daario; found TV Daario to be more believable, i.e. more believable that Dany would actually fall for this guy. Loved the scene with Sam and Gilly and the White Walker. Their dialogue is genuine and touching, and there was real suspense in the confrontation with the Other. Great way to close the episode. I predict that Shireen and Davos will free Gendry, much as Edric Storm is freed in the books. That will allow Gendry to return to the Riverlands and take up where he left off. Davos will save himself by arguing that the King must first protect the realm, just as he does in the books, thus setting up the whole Stannis-goes-to-the-Wall plotline for next season.
  5. I wondered the same thing. That's the only way the ship traveling north by King's Landing would work. I thought they would have gone around Crackclaw point to Maidenpool or something like that. The God's Eye/Blackwater Rush route would be a lot of sailing through crown-held territory for a party from Dragonstone - hard to believe they wouldn't be noticed. Maybe Mel used a glamor....the real reason is probably the show runners figuring the TV audience won't pay that much attention to geography.
  6. I wondered about that too, with her writing in a language that Robb cannot read. But, what would Talisa gain from this? Jeyne's mom in the book is trying to gain marriages, power, position, etc. So far Talisa's "Florence Nightingale" work and interests appear to be genuine. I'm waiting to see if (like Jeyne) she stays at Riverrun, or if she goes to the Red Wedding.
  7. Much as I like Locke, wouldn't it have been great to hear the immortal line..."YOU THLEW MY BEAR!"
