  1. 9/10. I had some(okay most) of the surprises spoiled thanks to the leaks, but it was an enjoyable episode nonetheless. That opening sequence was spectacular, probably one of the best I've watched in the series with the piano building up to an explosion. Everything else was spot on as well, and I'm willing to turn my brain off to feel Arya turning Freys into pies in their own castle wasn't too much of a hassle. Even Dorne was good, and that's a first.
  2. Thank you. This is really interesting. It really drives home the fact that ASOIAF is no longer political drama with magical bits in the East and the North- now Euron is attempting god knows what using priests and probably soon to be sacrifices against people who likely never believed in magic. If he does cause some sort of catastrophe,
  3. Same, although I think the Kingsmoot could have ended better. So gave it a 9.
  4. Honestly, I think none of the episodes would get less than a 9 from me if they nuked Dorne and had aliens abduct Ramsay.
  5. 8/10. Clearly the best writing since....forever? Tyrion and Varys were useful for once. Dany's scene, while really cheesy and unbelievable(reason why I docked a point) still got the job done. Cersei and Jaime finally went back to their conspiratorial selves. High Sparrow and Marge were great. Most importantly, the brother-sister reunions were really well done. Especially Jon-Sansa's reunion. My god, I've been waiting for them to reunite for so long. Or interact in any fashion tbh. I just hope GRRM includes this reunion in some fashion in the books. I just hope they don't dichotomise the roles of Sansa and Jon, i.e., leave Jon to do battles and Sansa for politics. Jon is experienced with dealing with people himself, uniting the Wildlings and majority of the Night's Watch and getting them to coexist. I just hope they don't throw out that development out the window.
  6. Wow, back to the board after almost a year. How's everyone doing? I'd rate the episode 7.5/10. Ramsay outsmarting Roose was unbelievable, but as I've seen much worse from him I've gotten....used to it? I don't know. I'm also effy about the Karstark support thingy, but will give it a chance to see how it plays out. Pros: Everything else related to the North- Sansa and Theon, Davos and Mel desperately trying to revive Jon, then the moment for which we've been waiting for 5 years itself. I'm kinda worried that it might have been firemagic that revived him, so he may lose parts of himself like Beric. Tyrion telling his childhood story was heartwarming. Arya was satisfactory. Balon's finally out. I'm surprised they've managed to make Euron even more cheesy. Special mention to the flashback scene involving Lyanna, Ned, Hodor and Benjen. Seriously, it felt so good to know Bran won't always be stuck to a tree.
  7. 8/10 Didn't really like Sansa's cliffhanger ending- its making me question her whole story this season tbh. Same with Stannis- at least show how Brienne killed him(if D&D somehow bring him back I'll be speechless). Jon, Arya and Cersei were well done- particularly Cersei's walk of shame. That Benjen bait was awesome though- I read the books and even then I was still surprised xD.
  8. 8/10. Not as good as Hardhome but not as bad as people believe it is either.
  9. 8/10. Not as good as Hardhome but not as bad as people believe it is either.
  10. You guys bickering about Blackwater is making me wish I watched that episode. How good is it? I only started watching from season 4 onwards, so no idea.
  11. 10/10. Jon Snow takes the cake this episode. Hardhome was amazing to see in first person and probably the best book detour they've ever taken IMO. That being said, other parts of the episode were great too- Dany and Tyrion, Arya in Braavos- its probably my most favourite city now, even the small Cersei scene was incredible. And no need to say anything about Theon- Alfie Allen continues to shine as usual.
  12. 9 out of 10. Didn't dislike anything really tbh, would've liked to see more Jon/Stannis instead of Gilly/Sam or Bronn/Sand Snakes but I'm happy with what I got.
  13. Gave it an 8. I actually didn't really pay any attention to the Dorne fight, so that probably helped a lot. Jorah-Tyrion, Kings Landing were done well. It was a nice twist to see Margaery get caught up in the Faith's trap-knowing Lancel confessed we'll probably get to see Cersei imrpisoned as well. The room of faces was really creepy and well designed-much better than my imagination of it at least. I'm still not offering any opinion of the ending- I mean, the actors pretty much made it clear we're in for a few shocks- and seeing the preview images with Sansa in Winterfell many people connected the dots. Lets see where this leads Sansa to.....
  14. 9/10. Its good to see they're speeding up Dany's arc somewhat, although in hindsight its weird to see her dragons being somewhat tame compared to the first episode, where they literally chased her out. Valyria was underwhelming, but thats understandable considering they have a very tight budget. The interactions between the characters were fantastic. None of them were poorly done/looked weird/out of place.
  15. I know, if we could include the general audience it would probably rate greater than 8. I was a bit surprised actually, considering that we got the R+L=J hints in this episode, I thought the board would rate it somewhat higher.
  16. Huh, never imagined I'd give an episode a 9, but heeere it goes. 9/10. Apart from the Sandsnakes doing a weird anime-villain revenge thingy, this episode was very good. Actually liked Tyrion in this season for the first time, maybe because he gets smacked. Shireen and Stannis was very heartwarming, I mean, Ran noted on his review that there was a touching scene but I didn't think it would be this good. And I don't really like Stannis even that much. SImilarly liked Barristan's history lesson to Daenerys, although I doubt Rhaegar would ever earn money singing in Kings Landing and get drunk-those shenanigans are typically reserved for Robert. Barry's death was quite saddening- despite the bad choreography of the Unsullied soldiers. Cersei giving power to the sparrows was well done as well. Knowing her book self its difficult not to believe that she'd come up with something so nasty just to screw Margaery.
  17. That's sooo below the line. But tbh, not including the block didn't bother me. Which is funny, seeing how pissed I was at the rather rushed election scene. Good episode overall. Although Littlefinger having an owl network to insta deliver letters ruffled my feathers quite a lot than it should have. And how old is the show Tommen? Even last season he was talking to Margaery about the antics of Ser Pounce. Now he gets to consummate his marriage? :O
  18. Oh, thought so. Still they could have handled the election a bit better.
  19. Really? He died? Didn't know. Guess I judged them too harshly... Question: Was Mormont's talking crow included in earlier seasons? I didn't watch seasons 1 to 3 :blushing:
  20. I rated it 7. While there were lots of positives, like Drogon, Shireen&Gilly, Lyanna Mormont etc the LC election was quite a let down for me personally. They didn't manage to transfer the tension around it too well.
  21. The scenes on the wall were amazing. Jon shooting Mance, giving him "mercy",so to speak, is probably the highlight of this episode, On the flipside, I don't really see the point of Davos being present on the wall yet. He hardly seems like himself. Young Cersei was surprisingly good, albeit probably a bit older. Leaving out the valonqar didn't bother me at all actually, whereas I got the feeling reading previews they somehow mucked it up. Tyrion and Varys added some comedy. It was good, but quite ordinary. Varys particularly annoyed me with his constant patriotism. Brienne and Pod- don't know where they are headed now that Lady Stoneheart is probably out of the picture. I feel sad for what they turned Loras into. Seems like a walking, talking stereotypical gay character that would be more in place at Two and a Half Men than King's Landing. On the brightside, his "force to be reckoned with" condolence was quite amusing, even if highly out of character from the books.
