Hedge Knight

Hedge Knight (5/8)

  1. 3, only because of the WoS and Stephen Dillane's acting.
  2. Gave it a 5. Dorne plot becomes more ridiculous every episode. My god, the actress who plays Myrcella is really bad (almost as bad as the Sand Snakes). I don't like the whole "almost gets raped only to have sex a couple of minutes later ..." trope. They easily could have had them comfort each other after Aemon's death instead of adding an unnecessary near-rape scene. (Also, funny how Sam has had more screentime with Ghost than Jon this season) The Dany-Tyrion reveal was a bit underwhelming IMO, also should have known the title would refer to St. Tyrion instead of Braavos ... Tommen's tantrum reminded me a little bit too much of Joff. I did like the scenes with the HS, Jonathan Pryce is a superb actor. (though Olenna admitting Loras is gay is a bit stupid of her) Don't like the storyline, but I have to admit both Alfie Allen and Sophie Turner are really good actors. Cersei getting arrested was good. Great acting by Lena Headey. Clarke's acting was much better this episode. Loved Stannis' "get out", though his reaction towards her suggestion worries me.
  3. 5 Disappointed about the lack of LS and Tysha. I also felt like they shouldn't have let the Lannister brothers end on good terms, Jaime is supposed to start questioning Cersei and pull away from her, not have sex with her on a table. The Tyrion-Shae scene was quite good, but the Tyrion-Tywin scene felt underwhelming and too short. Dany scene was okay, Emilia's acting when chaining up the dragons was better than anything else she has done this scene. Stannis (Stephen Dillane) was perfect of course, as always, though they managed to make him look a bit like the villain once again (loved how much in sync he was with Davos though). The burning of Ygritte was useless (they should have used this time for LS!!!!). The fight between Brienne and the Hound was okay (Brienne is quite shite at protecting the Stark girls though). Arya and the Hound easily was the best scene of the episode, amazing acting by both of them (+ glad that they included the mention of Sansa). oh and Jojen's death was quite harsh, the child deserved a softer death. It was an okay episode, but it definitely didn't live up to expectations.
  4. Damn, I was so certain we would see Stannis. 5/10, Blackwater was much better (as was the RW), very disappointing
  5. Ah yes, but after they somewhat softened the Sansa/Hound scenes, I thought they would do the same with this one.
  6. 5 The first 30 minutes weren't terribly interesting or exciting. Lovely to see Hot Pie once again (quite liked his kidney pie speech). The "only cat" scene was really good, even though he didn't actually say "only cat" and Sansa didn't actually hear the "Jon Arryn" reveal. I'm really surprised that they added the Sansa/Petyr kiss though, because she was only 17 then. But the scene that was absolutely perfect, was the interaction between Oberyn and Tyrion. Perfect acting from both of them. Too bad next episode will be Pedro Pascal's last, because he's been really enjoyable to watch these last couple of episodes.
  7. 9, best episode of the season so far! The bath scene was a bit awkward, but the trial was soooo good. Dinklage really delivered! His confession at the end might even have been better than the one in ASOS. Also, it's worth mentioning that Liam Cunningham is absolutely perfect as Davos, he never disappoints.
  8. 7 It was okay (really liked the Eyrie stuff and Brienne & Pod), but it wasn't great.
  9. Gave it a 5. The first half of the episode was really good, the second half was a bit boring. I don't mind so much if the show makes little changes, but Jon knowing that Bran is still alive and Bran being captured by the mutineers is a bit too much (but that's just my personal opinion ofc). Hooray for the appearance of Ser Pounce though!
  10. Deserves nothing more than a 3. The first scene with Sansa and Littlefinger was very good, even if it was a bit rushed. But it got worse after that scene. I won't even mention the disgusting scene between Jaime and Cersei (I can't believe they added rape!), but the rest was all very disappointing. The older Tommen just isn't working for me. I had expected a young kid who plays with kittens and has no clue what's going on. This Tommen however seems to know what's up (even though he's being manipulated by Tywin). Btw, I don't think Tywin actually believed the rumor that Dany has Dragons in the books? (or at least he said he didn't believe it). The last scene however was the most disappointing, not a big surprise I suppose.
  11. Gave it a 6. It was marginally better than 401. The stannis scenes were quite boring and useless, to my regret. Didn't like the whole Shae situation. The wedding was good, but could have been better. Of course was the entire experience yet again seen from Tyrion's POV, while the wedding is in fact Sansa's chapter in ASOS. Alas, she only had one line during the entire episode. However, no Dany, so that was good! + The scenes between Joff and Tyrion were super intense. (going to miss Jack and even Joff a lot) Oh, the scene between Ramsay and Roose were quite good as well, with Roose of course being perfectly intimidating (and handsome may I add) again.
  12. 4/10 Hated Oberyn's introduction (there's more about the character than his bisexuality), they made Arya even weirder (and sadistic) and I still don't like the fact that they brought Jaime and Brienne to KL earlier than in the book. + Emilia's acting skills were not to be found again, I assume? (and when will they finally do some about those eyebrows??) On a sidenote, Jack was yet again perfect as Joffrey! He never fails to amuse me.
