It was also a pretty pointless and absurd threat. Cersei wants to stay in KL to protect Tommen so she threatens to reveal something that's going to get him killed? What does she think's gonna happen once she tells the world that Tommen, and Joffrey before him weren't true kings? WTF?!

People keep saying what Cersei did was a confession. It wasn't a confession, it was extortion. She was threatening her father so he wouldn't send her to Highgarden. I thought that was one of the pointless scenes. Probably only meant to give Lena Headey a dramatic scene in the finale.

Great episode. I haven't been on the forum in a but but I wanted to say that I thought the Brienne/Hound fight was one of the best fight scenes in all television history.

I'm wondering how, at this point, could they reveal Jorah's spying without implicating Barristan? He knew about Jorah. So if Dany finds out about Jorah now, she would also have to have some kind of problem with Barristan for not telling her about it.

Again, you're essentially making the same point. When you say "keep all the characters roughly in sync", in sync wiith what? The books, correct? So that would mean they're trying to stay behind the books.

I think it's PRIMARLY to keep it behind the books. The season finale's for this show tend to not be very dramatic. The most climactic episodes of the season tend to be one or two shows BEFORE the finale.

Gotta disagree there. I'd buy that she might've wanted to cozy up to Margaery for future purposes since she was a lot friendlier to her than the past. But I don't think she thought she'd get Margaery to say anything.

I think that was a polite "fuck you" from Margaery.

That's essentially the same point. The "stopping points" you mentioned ensures they don't catch up to the books.

Cersei's not the brightest but she would have to be a COMPLETE idiot to think she'd get Margaery to confess any knowledge or complicity in Joffrey's death. She wasn't fishing.

Does anyone agree that the show seems to be trying hard NOT to catch up with the books? Which would explain all of the recent deviations?

Total character deviation for Cersei. NO WAY would she ever confess her displeasure with Joffrey to anyone outside of the family.

Doesn't this show have enough storylines going on without starting a new one with Missandei and Grey Worm?

One of the few times Lena Headey's acting didn't cut it.

Sorry if someone mentioned this already, since this topic is so big . . . Anyone notice the foreshadowing for Tywin when Olenna told him that he should try to enjoy things? Ala Shae ending up in his bed. I really think HBO is going to be a lot more graphic than the books. We're gonna find Tywin and Shae all up in each other's arms. I don't think Tyrion will be finding him on the privy.
