  1. He's an old man, and he still managed to take out a bunch of them. Even Arthur Dayne didn't survive such odds.
  2. He's already sick. There's no way he's going to leave at this point...pretty sure he's going to die within the next few episodes.
  3. Not really. They didn't do well together the first time, it would be even worse a second time. She needs a void in her life to consider taking back Jorah, anyhow. This provides that void.
  4. I disagree...Littlefinger does not need to physically be with Sansa to have influence over her. He's been molding her for several years now, helping her out in her times of need. She's had the upper hand on LF and instead of giving him up, she helped him out. The Boltons may fall...but Sansa Stark won't. No one will kill her because, as you stated yourself- she is too valuable. To everyone. She's the key to the North right now, and everyone will want her. Which is why this is a smart move on LF's part. If the Boltons win out, they owe him a debt. If they lose out, he's still influential over Sansa. It's win-win, either way.
  5. I utterly disagree. Cersei will clearly be the one to blame when things go wrong later on, because she's letting her contempt for Margaery take over any common sense she may have once had. No one is going to say "Oh, poor Cersei- the High Sparrow seemed so nice when she approached him, so it's not her fault." There is nothing 'whitewashed' about Cersei- the show has simply changed her motivations somewhat, but she's still desperate to retain power and making bad decisions. No one is going to give her a free pass on that when it comes to bite her in the ass later on simply because the show hasn't made her into a raving lunatic like the books did.
  6. This. LF even says "The last time the Vale and the North teamed up, they brought down a dynasty". Clearly, he has LARGE ambitions. Either way, he gets them through Sansa marrying Ramsay and the Boltons staying in power, or Stannis coming and destroying the Boltons leaving Sansa in power.
  7. I actually care about the Winterfell plot now. I care about the real Sansa Stark much, MUCH more than I ever cared about Jeyne Poole. And Slynt's execution was well done and awesome. I don't care about the phrasing and never have - they kept the tone just right and even used a rendition of "I Paid the Iron Price" just like with Theon executing Cassel and Robb executing Karstark. Jorah sighting, finally...and boy, is he looking rough XD
  8. 9/10. Amazing episode, lots of high notes. This season just keeps getting better and better.
  9. ...and what makes you think that? There's an entrenched and unfair class system in Westeros, just as there is in Essos...do you think she would be happier with the nobility of Westeros mistreating those underneath them than she is with Masters and Slaves? I sure as hell don't. It would be just the same in the end if she doesn't learn how politics work. Right now, she doesn't. And until she does, she's not going to be an effective ruler, no matter where she is.
  10. It wouldn't be any different in Westeros. She didn't grow up there, either...nor is she familiar with the laws and customs (other than vicariously, which is never the same thing). Every leader faces impossible decisions. There are no right and wrong choices...sometimes, just bad and worse. The real problem is that Dany took the city by force by having the slaves revolt against the leaders- without having any plans for how to restore the government once it fell. Now she's struggling to strike a balance. You can't tell the slaves "Rise up against your Masters and I will free you!" and then execute a former slave for killing a man working for those Masters without alienating the people who put you in power in the first place. Just like Robb, she chose the "lawful" path, but also the path that costs her the most. She's not politically minded, and neither is her small council. She needs an advisor who is...Selmy is a great KG, but he doesn't know how to spin things the way that someone like Tyrion does. Guess we'll see what comes of that in the future.
  11. I can see it now... "What the hell is that bird doing in here???" "Kill it!"
  12. I remember him pretty vividly from the last episode, where he was out in the yard chewing on a bone while Jon trained with Olly.
  13. Uh, no. Oberyn and Doran have the same positions...because both stated the same thing. Ellaria never stated her feelings on the subject before now, and you can't pin Oberyn's statements on her as if they were her own.
  14. ...while she watched on in horror, as well. And what was she like "last season"? When did she espouse any non-violent policies? You can't say "Well, Oberyn said this"...because she's NOT Oberyn and there's no reason to hold her to his words. Basically, she was Oberyn's arm candy last season...who looked on as he so nonchalantly stabbed a man in the wrist for singing the Lannister song and then started passionately kissing him afterwards. So yeah, I don't see any contradictions in her character AS PRESENTED in the show.
  15. Agreed. She was the second worst thing about AFFC/ADWD...only Quentyn could top her story.
  16. 9/10. Awesome episode...well done across the board. The Wall and Mereen continue to be the strongest plots right now, but I'm really enjoying what we have so far.
  17. Uh, no. That's incorrect Oberyn (brothel) Tyrion (whores) Tywin (sleeping with Tyrion's whore) Cersei (sleeping with Lancel and Jaime) Robert (sleeping with everyone) Jon (Ygritte was definitely not a virgin, as she said herself) Dany (sleeping with Daario) Theon (sleeping with a random chick on a boat) Robb (sleeping with Talisa, whom he didn't know very well) Stannis (sleeping with Melisandre, who is definitely not a virgin) And just because you are in a committed relationship with someone doesn't mean you are having 'safe sex'...especially during a time when little was understood about STDs and their transmission.
  18. High risk sex = everyone in the show. Are they gay stereotypes, too?
  19. Wait...how is Loras anything LIKE the stereotype of gay men? I've heard a great many stereotypes of gay men and Loras doesn't match any of them. I don't see how laying in bed with another man makes him a 'stereotypical gay man'.
  20. Anyone else notice that this was the first time we've seen Jon Snow use a bow and arrow in the show? He used a crossbow last season (on Tormund), but it's nice to see his proficiency with a weapon other than a sword in the show.
  21. That part was hilarious. My husband and I were laughing pretty hard at the "girl with palsy" comment.
  22. 8/10 Great opener...mainly setting the stage for season to come, so nothing huge here. Still had a lot of great moments. I honestly didn't even realize Arya was not in it until I saw the preview for episode 2. Goes too fast, but it always goes too fast. CGI was amazing, though.
