  1. 2016 KC WorldCon: MidAmeriCon II Aug 17-21

Marriot is day before cancellation if I recall correctly.
  2. 2016 KC WorldCon: MidAmeriCon II Aug 17-21

I booked the Marriott since that is the only hotel that has the con discount rate for a couple days before and after the con.  I plan to arrive a couple days early and leave a day or two after.  Plus for the first time ever, this year I reached Marriott guest Platinum Level so will likely get an upgraded room, free breakfast, etc.  :-)
  3. Boskone - Boston - Feb. 19-21, 2016

    I plan to attend.
  4. 2016 KC WorldCon: MidAmeriCon II Aug 17-21

Thanks!  For the first time ever, I made Marriott platinum level guest status for this year, so want to ensure I book that property.   I've been checking the web mornings for the last few days, and did not see the 25th date.  I think I'll check every day, given the "around".
  5. Other Conventions

I've not missed a Boskone for several years, and likely will attend the next.   Nice con.
  6. 2016 KC WorldCon: MidAmeriCon II Aug 17-21

Purchased my membership last year, so I'll be there!
  7. Direwolves Baseball Game?

Here's a photo of George and [Dire]wolf leaving the field after the presentation of the donation to the wolf preserve.  The photo is not the best, difficult to focus with the backstop netting in between.  This is in the public folder of my Dropbox account,  Hope it works:   https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/96207828/KDB_GRRM_SIDirewolves.JPG
  8. Direwolves Baseball Game?

I grew up in Bayonne and moved to Lebanon Township in Hunterdon County, NJ some 16 or 17 years ago.  Would have used the Bayonne Bridge, but with the closure, the Skyway out, etc. Google Maps showed the Outerbridge Crossing as the best way.
  9. Sasquan Spokane WC 2015 Attendance Headcount Thread

I'll be there (and awake) by noon or so on Tuesday, the 18th.
  10. Direwolves Baseball Game?

I have tickets.  I'll forgo getting anything signed, can always ask George at a con.  Any idea what time the gates open?  Given that the Bayonne Bridge is slated to be closed tomorrow as part of the reconstruction process, I'll have to loop around a bit and probably try and get there by 4;00 p.m. just in case the traffic is problematic.  Plus there are numerous notices of parking limitations due to construction.  :-(
  11. Mysticon, Roanoke VA, George GOH, February 26-28, 2016

    I purchased my membership.
  12. Sasquan Spokane 2015 Worldcon

I took a look at Google Maps. It's about 20 miles and somewhat over 1/2 hour by car, and somewhat over an hour by buses. I think the distance/time was measured from the AFB gate, and to the Marriott next to the convention center.
  13. Sasquan Spokane 2015 Worldcon

Well, given my desire to maintain my Marriott gold level membership, i booked the Marriott Fairfield Inn. Interestingly, the Marriott Courtyard was shown as completely sold out.

You can suggest it here: http://sasquan.org/program/idea-form/

I once asked the coordinator for a large business convention that question. She replied that she could gauge the need to expand the room block earlier, before non-convention guests had reserved a significant percentage of rooms, thus making less likely that space for attendees would run out, and with less risk of not achieving the guaranteed minimum. Don't know if that is the case with Sasquan.
