bloodsteel bitterraven
"Solaris" by Stanislaw Lem has certainly aged well. Another book I would recommend is "We" by Yevgeny Zamyatin.
Maithanet
I am Legend holds up incredibly well even though it was written in the 50s. The setting is virtually indistinguishable from most post-apocalyptic novels of today, and the quality of writing is much higher.
Yersinia
I am Legend holds up incredibly well even though it was written in the 50s. The setting is virtually indistinguishable from most post-apocalyptic novels of today, and the quality of writing is much higher. I remember being a little surprised at the frankness with which the book mentioned sex (drive), considering when it was written. It added a very human dimension that was sadly absent in any movie adaptations I've seen.
