Vikings #4, On to Season 3

Apparently I am conflicted, I read this post and thought:

The nudity in Marco Polo is totally gratuitous and a little distracting. It is so in your face you start to forget there are like 10 naked women on the screen at once.

Then I read this and thought: I would totally like to see some of the Vikings women naked (if that is what you are saying, there is nudity on Euro Vikings).

I am a pig.

Yeah, there is some. Aslaug, Siggy, Porunn and Helga all show some skin through the two seasons.

And of course there are the men running around without shirts, so I don't begrudge you.

Is there a character named Porn? :p Forgot about that.

Heh, auto correct strikes again. :blushing:

Incidentally, does anyone know the correct spelling for that name? I used the one off IMDB but I have seen it spelled a couple of different ways.

That's Ragnar and Lagertha son. I am taking about the slave girl he fell in love with and was freed by Aslaug.

You mean Porn right? :p The spelling on IMDB will probably be correct no? :)

No, thanks to tumblr, art work, nerds and celebs, etc, that show has spreaded faster then wildfire, but vikings as amazing as it is, lacks the flare, porn, hipster pull that brings in legions of people to it.

As to quality, I can say I like it more, it lacks what shows like Marco and Games can't seem to help using: the ability to use nudity. Seriously, it gives it two more points because now I don't need to spend a third of the screen time seeing the vikings doing it. It also helps that it pulls from a time of true mystery, so it has liberties when it comes to accuracy. I hope it inspires more pieces(good ones) of the lost age, I would like to see the rise of Charles Martel, the Muslim invasion, and the beginning of the reconquest of Spain.

Hipster quality? Got? Surely, you jest, as Got is as anti-hip as anything can be.

Now I'll get beat up!

Of course, hip and hipster are not equivalents. :)

But seriously, I have seen it spelled with a P or a Th.

I think the pronunciation is supposed to be closer to todays's English "th". The correct phonetical writing would be "Þ", but since it looks similar to "P" and usually cannot be found on a keyboard (I had to just copy that from Word), people write it with a "P". Phonetically, I do not think "P" makes any sense. I would rather use "th" in writing.

And that is the extent of historical grammar I remember from my studying.

Thanks for the info! Th it is.

Mind. Blown.

I had no idea that Floki was related to Erik (ie sons of Dr. Selvig/Bootstap Bill)

So, my wife and I just binge watched the first two seasons on Amazon Prime. Wow. Love this show. Can't wait until February. I'm trying so hard to avoid the spoiler links..... I looked up Ragnar on wiki, so I know the broad strokes of history 1200 years ago, but ... Must. Resist.
