I have read an interview with Pedro Pascal now and it made me feel a little better! He said that "even though it ends badly, he still hears the confession, you know? I don’t even need to go on after that once it’s been said out loud. And the ecstasy of achieving that, even though it’s being achieved in the instance of my demise". I always thought Mountain yelling at him was the worst kind of mockery. But to think about it, Oberyn knows the Mountain will die a horrible death from poison and he knows that now everyone will know what happened with Elia, so he dies with that being done at least...
