Pengwin7
I had first watched the TV shows as my exposure to Game of Thrones. My read through the book right now is sort of a re-read... paying attention to details & descriptions in events a little closer. Last night I just read past Jojen's "Winterfell Drowning" dream - with "black waves" and "salt water" coming over the castle walls. The first time I read it... I took it verbatim. The second time... I got it. Mercy, GRRM has some clever use of words.I must remind myself to pay more attention to his descriptions of dreams/prophecies being more... metaphorical? (is that the right word) I assume that he does this a lot through ALL the books.I'm wondering... did I miss a lot in the first book (GoT) and first half of the second book (CoK) that I might need to "study" further. Is there a general thread of "different interpretations" of things written, by book, by character?Any thing like that? (thanks - from a NOOB)

Rhaenys_Targaryen
Here's a list of prophecies and the explanation the Citadel provides for them. It's listed per character, but there is an indication in which book everything takes place http://www.westeros.org/Citadel/Prophecies/

Meridiana
This volume is full of prophecies that hint about the next books' events. I'd pay attention to them and start theorizing. It's not so bad if you can't remember the 1st one, but do make an effort to keep even the vaguest memory of this book's dreams and such - because it'll be so much more entertaining reading the next ones. Bran the Broken </3
Yeah even the stuff Dany sees in the House of the Undying have some pretty prophetic vibes to them. I'm still reading CoK but I cant wait tofind out if my interpretations are correct.
