Characters that will possibly be cut

I hate says you may be right about the characters that they may cut out Victarion, Val, Dalla,( Arianne that is big surprise) and I think that they might cut out Quentyn sad I like him. Aegon Targaryen VI I think that they cut the whole storyline and Tyrion go right to Merren (Deanerys)

They can't cut fAegon unless they're changing the entire storyline of the later books. Meeting Tyrion is hardly the purpose of fAegon; he's invading Westeros at the moment and is obviously set up as a contender/pretender to the throne and most likely Dany's future enemy in the second "Dance of the Dragons".

Dunno if it was posted upthread, but Michelle Fairley has an interview up at insidetv.ew.com where she confirms Lady Stoneheart has been cut. It's a lot more definitive than Alex Graves' interview on the same subject, in my opinion. The good news is that she's got work lined up, so good for her.

Some are claiming that the interview's ambiguous, but I didn't read it that way.

Gutted. Absolutely gutted. It reads pretty definitive to me.

I am also having a hard time wrapping my mind around what this is going to do to Jaime and Brienne going forward in the television adaption.

Is it fair to say that Benioff and Weiss are going to simply invent material for the two of them for all of next season?

Ha, yes, unless this is Balon Swann's plot and we don't know it yet.

I am already shuddering at thinking what their plans for Brienne next season will be.

So, to be clear:

All of the Theon torture porn that occurred off-screen during A Storm of Swords makes it into the television adaption (supplemented with, you know, actual porn).

The entire narrative of post-A Storm of Swords published material for Jaime, Brienne and Catelyn is cut out and replaced with something else.

Nice job Dan and Dave.

I guess after Jamie leaves Dorne he can put on the jet pack and go to the Riverlands and meet up with his actual plotline. I'm not sure what Brienne will do, unless we don't see much of her until she too meets up with her plot at the end of the season, I just don't think they will have the same success with the Brienne/Pod show as they did with the Arya/Hound show....

After what's happened at the end of season 4, I have more confidence of Tom Bombadil showing up in season 5 than any of the Greyjoy brothers. Wouldn't count on any of the Aegon/JonCon crew either.

Not even Ysilla??? i'll be so pissed....

Is anyone else nervous that Wyman Manderly wasn't on the list of leaked characters they'll be casting for season five? Seems like the northern resistance should be introduced some time in this season and not season 6. It's barely addressed in the last season, if you count the Ironborn being in Moat Cailin (which I don't). The viewers have no inkling that a LOT of people were pissed off about the Red Wedding. It's like a whole region of people said "Yep, whatever, that's cool. We don't care about apocalyptic ice zombies OR our army being killed dishonorably at dinner." Less Dorne, more cryptic northern threats is what I say. Who's with me?

Oh, that's just BS. I'll be so fucking disappointed if they don't have Lady Stoneheart. I mean, who are they going to have capture and put Brienne on a quest to find and kill Jaime? Lord Beric? Fuck that noise. It makes no sense. Unless Michelle Fairley is just lying to put everybody off, this is absolutely, the dumbest move D&D have and will do.

I agree. Dorne should get less amount of time, and the North more. And also, good point about the Northern lords being pissed about the RW. The show hasn't made mention of that or even shown it at all. They have to cast Wyman and Lady Dustin if they are to actually show that.

But no, I don't think Wyman will be cast either. They will have Davos obviously go to Skagos to search for Rickon, but it will be because Jon tells Stannis that the Stark boys are alive (because he knows in the show. Sam told him) and Stannis will send Davos to Skagos. They will completely omit the fact that Davos is actually out searching for Northern lords to join Stannis' cause. What a fucking load. It's not about budget or time constraints at that point, but more because HBO wants to rush out this story as quick as possible and D&D making it "more suitable" for TV. I fear the show is taking the route of the Sopranos.

Got a feeling Dorne going to get a lot of screen time, D&D and HBO love showing naked, hot ladies. Ive got the Manderley may not make the cut, and feel either Davos visits the Umbers at Last Hearth and gets info from them that Rickon has gone to Skagos. Even though Sam told Jon, that Bran is alive, he doesnt meet Rickon so he wouldnt know where he is.

Yeah, but I think that ship has sailed.

I find it hard to believe they would cut Manderly, or why they would replace Manderly with an Umber...but they already gave Stannis a HUGE army...so, he doesn't need the Northern lords, not that logic ever stopped the show before....but the way it is set up now at the Wall, there isn't much need for the North, and when he marches on Winterfell with his mercenary army, they won't be doing it for the Starks. Many odd choices there.

There is no Skaagos, Rickon is already at last hearth that's where they're going to go to pick him up

Not necessarily. People forget that Luwin suggested the Last Hearth in the books as well. It's possible that Rickon is at the Last Hearth with the Umbers taking on the roles of the Manderly's, the Mountain Clans and the Skaagosi. Or Rickon and Osha could have passed through the Last Hearth and Davos gets sent on his mission to Skaagos at the end of S5.

Yes, I've thought the same. Not even any throw-away references made at the Small Council to the RW hostages or the importance of stabilising the North under Roose.

Not only does it dampen the slow-burn vibe for a northern anti-Bolton uprising, but the complete absence of Freys and hostages in S4 means any future Jaime Lannister march to mop-up the last vestigages of WOT5K in the Riverlands has less meaning. I've said it before, less Brienne and Pod free-styling and less 'Beetle squashing', more plot narrative please.
