Spoilers... Margaery and Cersei

Recommended Posts

Question...so has Margaery lost her maidenhead?

I figured she has, after the septas examined her and deemed it so, but it wasn't to the men Cersei framed, right?

Cersei knew that the septas' examination would come back positive no matter what, due to Margery's penchant for horseback riding. When put into the right context, her broken hymen could be seen as work of a man, rather than a saddle on a horse.

ahh...gotcha, thanks. So the Blue Bard was simply tortured into telling a false tale about witnessing Margaery in the act, since Cersei knew the result of the hymen test would come back as broken?

It was a gamble and she got lucky. A lot of young girls ride horses a lot and not all of them got their hymens broken. Otherwise, their parents wouldn't let them ride, because then, their husband would doubt their virginities were taken by horses but other men.

Horse riding is seen as a common and accepted past time for noblewomen despite the fact that maidens who do horse riding very often lose their hymen to it. This is a known fact which is why noblemen do not tend to be bothered if they find their wives to lack a hymen on their wedding night.

Cersei will try any trick in the book, as long as it works in her favour. Margaery seems to be a good counter, particularly when she's helped by Lady Olenna. Cersei vs Margaery sort of cancel each other out.

However, it's Tommen who holds the key. He likes kittens. All Cersei would see is a fur collar on her new cloak. Margaery likes kittens too.

Dragons like kittens too. Yum. Dracarys!

Winter is coming, unless everyone in KL has forgotten. Is anyone in KL all that bothered? It seems not.
