I was using Rimmel mascara then L'Oreal million lashes, or whatever it's called, and they both flake like crazy. I should pay attention to see if I touch my eyes/face more than I think. :/

Major shindig next Saturday and I think I'll get my makeup done by someone else for the occasion. :)

I am really loving Too Faced's Better than Sex mascara.  It doesn't clump or flake, and it washes off easily with soap and water.  I really, really like it.

I am in the market for a new mascara actually. But I despise anything which is marketed by comparing it to sex on principle. Anything product or experience described as being orgasmic makes me feel repulsed. See also, describing anything as '-porn' eg food porn or beer porn. It's just revolting.

In other news I have a voucher for Urban Decay and can't decide what to get with it. I already bought foundation and their optical blur brush to apply it. And I don't need any more of their eye shadows right now. I'm leaning toward mascara and maybe lipstick. Even though I find lipstick weird now after all these years away from it.

Does anyone use UD products, apart from their eyeshadow palettes?

The mascara name is very annoying, but it's good stuff, so I'm willing to look over it.

As far as UD goes, I like their lip glosses.  I haven't tried the lipsticks - please advise if you get one/some. :)

I'm also using an eyeliner that came in my Birchbox called "Mr. Write Now."  That name totally cracks me up.  I know; I'm a goober.

Haven't tried UD products, but I've always done well with Lancome Definicils or their Hypnose Doll Eyes Mascara.

Second Lancome mascara.  The one thing I go high end on for cosmetics.

Like others on this thread, I have tried so many different mascaras, but I have yet to find anything comparable to Lancome Definicils.  I have found the waterproof version of this mascara to be unnecessary.  Definicils does not smudge, and it provides length and volume to the lashes.

The item that I am always searching for is an eyeliner for my waterline that is a color other than dark brown or black and that does not cause an immediate allergic reaction.  The truly perfect color for me is Too Faced Perfect Peacock. Unfortunately, the moment I apply it my eyes start producing an overload of mucus.

Ulta had their shampoo sale this weekend so I stocked up on liter bottles, and with my coupon I sprung for a sample size of the UD Perversion mascara. We'll see how successful I am.

Last week I bought the Sephora sunscreen sampler and the Shiseido Wet Force is a keeper. I really like it - wasn't super greasy, didn't irritate my skin though it did leave me with a slight pale cast. I also liked the FRESH SPF tinted lip balm and Tarte sunscreen which came with my Play! box last month.

One note to Lancome mascara lovers (or for anyone who's thinking of trying them) that I neglected to mention earlier: if you're interested in the Hypnose Doll Eyes mascara, just note it has a VERY strong fragrance to it (at least it did the last time I bought a tube). So if you're sensitive to fragrance in your cosmetics, you might want to take a pass on it.

The Benefit mascara made my lashes stick together into these horrible Tammy Faye Bakker spiderlegs. Yes, this was even after I used a clean wand to take off some of the product to get decent lash separation. I think the takeaway for me is that I prefer mascara that defines rather than thickens lashes. So I went back to my Maybelline Define A Lash and its great. I use it with a primer (Dior) and I don't get any smudging or flaking.

I have used Definicils at a rec from this thread and I found it fine but not the miracle product I was expecting. :(

I've tried that one as well, and feel similarly about it-- sufficient, but not fantastic.   Lancome's Hypnose (the original version) was the gamechanger for me- the resultant lashes are pretty lush, but with a clean finish.

I find if I use a primer I get clumping. I can only really cope by wiping off almost all the product off the wand before applying it to my lashes. I just don't think I need thickening. :/

I definitely can't use a primer, they tend to flake or have fibers or something in it that really irritates my eyes.

Has anyone tried Korean skincare/makeup products? I have a few that I like and was curious if some of you had favorites you'd like to share. :)

  • 4 weeks later...

I bought a NARS The Multiple in Riviera (Orgasm was way too peachy glimmer, almost Grace Jones-esque). The pale pink is more me. I quite like it. Have yet to progress to using it as anything except blusher though.

ETA: does not work as lip colour because who has white/pale pink shimmery lips. It's weird. I guess you could mix it with something else but who the hell has time for that?
