How and when we'll see Howland Reed?

GRRM has hinted that we'll find out about Jon Snow's parentage in the Winds of Winter; Howland seems like the most likely vessel for that discovery to take place. I personally don't buy that he's the High Sparrow, but I think it's fairly likely he's been in contact with the survivors of the Red Wedding and perhaps Lady Stoneheart and will participate in the Grand Northern Conspiracy (though personally I think it's probably not wholly unified, but several smaller conspiracies that will come together). I'm guessing he'll be introduced early in the Winds of Winter.

If I had to guess, I'd put money on Theon, Asha, or Brienne.

I agree. So I guess that's the question: will he go North upon hearing of events on the wall? Will he go South to the Riverlands to assist Lady Stoneheart? Will one or the other of them come to him in Greywater Watch?

Alot of people think he is the Highsparrow.

A lot of people need to either read or reread the books for no logical leap is enough to make such assumption. Howland is not the High Sparrow and that's the end of it.

As for the POV we might see Howland in, I am torn between Prologue and Jaime's POV.

The season 5 casting kind of debunks that theory.

I don't subscribe to the theory of him being the High Sparrow, but that statement is nevertheless simply not true. To save you the trip to I had to take: The High Sparrow was cast with Jonathan Pryce, who is very fair-skinned and 1.83m tall. And that indeed does not fit the description of Howland in the books at all. But then again, neither does it fit the description of the High Sparrow. And the series itself has as far as I remember never made ANY statement regarding how Howland Reed or even the Crannogmen in general look. Because Meera and Jojen in the series don't really fit the their description in the book either.

Which, as I said, doesn't change the fact that I don't think they are the same person. I just feel compelled to point out how the casting news for season 5 indicate nothing either way.

Agreed, it is an utterly preposterous theory and wrong on so many levels.

My hope is a Jaime POV. I highly doubt Reed travels all the way to the Wall, to tell Jon the big secret; and that's more or less the point of Reed. I'm of the opinion Reed's job is to convince the rest of the realm who Jon is. So why not start with someone who is/was in direct conflict with the Stark family. If Jaime were to believe it, why the hell would others not? We have also seen, Jaime's thoughts and dreams lately and his regret, for not saving Rhaegar's children. What better way for Jamie to be able atone for failure, in his mind; than to realize he could still serve Rhaegar. That is why I believe we meet Reed, in a Jaime POV.
