Blah. Decided to play some cards this morning, but there's no game going. Guess I can wait an hour until the regulars show up.

Edit: To pass the time I just spent 15 minutes at a penny slot.  I am now $8.90 up. I should probably leave now.

Edit 2: Blah lost $191 for the day. Most of it went to a $800+ pot where I turned the King high flush, and the winner had the Ace high flush.

Got screwed out of another $600 pot where I had pocket 6s and the flop came 5-6-7. Someone went all in ahead of me and another player called him. I called as well, and had their two pairs crushed. The turn and river was a 3 and a 4.

Sigh... Anyone else ever raise $30 pre-flop with QQ and get re-raised to $180 and think to yourself, "Shit, I know for a fact this guy has either KK or AA." but you call anyways because you're not good enough of a player to fold QQ to a raise pre-flop?

In this instance the other guy had KK of spades and clubs. The flop gave me false hope when three hearts came out (one of my queens was a heart) but then the turn was a diamond and the river a club.

Depends on the player making it 180.  Ask yourself "what's the smallest hand he could be doing that with?"  If theres no way he's bombing it with JJ then let it go.  Assuming this is a 1 2 game and stacks arent ridiculously deep.

That's actually a pretty decent tournament. Wish I had it's like here. $50 dollar buy-in with 30+ people? What did 1st pay? About $700- $800? There aren't any good tournaments at the casino I play at. Buy-ins are usually at least $125 with only 20 or so people participating.

And sorry, but wouldn't that be a two outter? Perhaps we use the term differently. Unless you already knew the last 9 was accounted for.

Edit: One or two outter, either way that was still horribly unlucky. However, at the time you made the move you had him dominated. Except for already having the nuts, that's the best you can hope for in this game. And in the long run you should win more often than not in that situation.

Another player said he folded a 9, which is bad form, but said it none the less.

This tourney is every Friday in a charity poker room, usually have 40+ people in it, 1st place is usually $1000. They are open Fri-Sat-Sun-Mon.

Friday has two tourneys, $30 rebuy pinapple then later the $50 hold em

Sat - $30 crazy pineapple rebuy, then later a $35 with a $10 add on hold em

Sun $30 Omaha rebuy, then a $35 and $10 hold em

Mon early tourney but I can't remember what it is, then a league based hold em tourney $35 buy in.

This room also has a cash game running each of those days, Fri-Sat there is usually $3000 on the table for the last 4 hours, $40 min buy in $200 max. Normally has a second table running as well, it feeds into the main table.

The casino's in the area have regular daily tourneys as well I just prefer the charity room, little closer to home. I am a little spoiled where I live, I have five casino's within about 45 minutes of my house.

So I had a very nice session on Sunday.  Here's a breakdown of the three times I got dealt AA.  Played them nearly perfectly all three times.

First time playing 2 5 and an aggro player who thinks everyone else is dumber than they are makes it 25 in the cutoff.  I raise to 75 in the big blind and he makes it 200.  The previous week he was speechifying about how he loves it when bad players 4 bet him because he can put them on Kk or AA and get out.  So I just call the 200 and plan on check calling every flop. He has about 280 behind.  Board comes KQ4 with 2 diamonds and he ships it.  Mission accomplished.  He says"youre good" and then "like I never have set there"  and I just think to myself "sometimes my poop is green but I have to see it to believe it."  He should have played more mum poker Tommy Angelo style.

A bit later the tightest guy at the table open limps, late position LAG makes it 25, I see AA in the small blind and make it 80.  Open limper goes to 200 and it folds around to me.  He has a bit over 600 behind and I cover.

I think for a bit and can only put him on KK or the other two aces.  Really dont think he open limps QQ or less and comes over the top with that raise.  Since hes a nitty guy that waits hours for a hand I figure he'll grudgingly call a shove with kings since he feels entitles to win.  No kings come and I win a rather large pot.  Pretty sure that the rest of the table knew I had aces but also felt he wouldnt be as objective.

After dinner sat down at a 1 2 game and managed to only lose $35 with aces.  Easy to fold the flop in position after an open shove that got flatted by Old Man Coffee and an over shove behind that.

Morale of the story, tailor your play to your opponents.  And dont forget to run good!

Congrats. So I'm assuming you cashed out up in all of these games?

Reading this really makes me wanna go play cards right now. But I have a limit on what I'm  willing to lose per month, and I got the crap kicked out of me in early June. Hoping to redeem myself in July.

Though this Sunday I did sit down for a little while at Blackjack.Only played one shoe, but ended up cashing out up $35. Didn't see the need to get greedy and try another shoe with that game.

Learned a lesson on what not to do at a casino game about a week ago. I was playing 1/3 and up about $125 when I lost it all in one hand because of a stupid mistake I made. On the turn I bluffed all in, but I did so by tossing a $1 chip across the line. The guy I was playing with apparently didn't know what that meant, and tossed $1 in as well thinking he was calling a $1 bet. He ended up winning with Ace high. From now on whenever I go all in I'll  be sure to push the whole stack, just in case someone doesn't know the rules. At least I was able to leave even for the day after buying back in (got lucky with pocket Kings when the flop came AKQ and someone else had AK).

Did win $180 a few days ago though. Got on a streak and turned trips three times in less than 4 hands. Twice the other player had two pair and once they were chasing a straight that didn't hit. Nearly got huge when I had AA heads up against KK pre-flop, but a straight hit the board and we ended up splitting. Decided to leave not long after having to split that pot.

Finally went to play cards for the first time in 6 months last week. Didn't do half bad.

The first day I played there wasn't a holdem game going when I arrived, so I sat down to some blackjack. Ended up going down $200 so I gave that up. There still wasn't a holdem game going so I put $20 into a penny slot to pass the time. On the third spin I ended up winning $550. A little while later a holdem game finally started, but I ended up losing the $140 I bought in for. So I decided to go home up with my $210 in winnings.

The second day I only played for an hour. There was no holdem game going, and there were only two people on the list, so I decided not to wait around for that. Instead I played blackjack again, but this time after two shoes I was able to cash out $95 up.

The third day I showed up there still wan't a holdem game going when I arrived, but we nearly had enough for a full table so I decided to stick around. While waiting I put another $20 into a slot right next to the won I won on a couple days before. This time I hit for $240. I then sat through a shoe of blackjack and ended up down $65. After the shoe the holdem game got started and I sat down with $100. An hour and a half later I ended up cashing out with $315 (I got lucky as hell the second hand of the game when I got pocket Aces vs. pocket Kings. The other player just couldn't let them go).

So after 3 days of playing I ended up with $695 in winnings.

Edit: Yeah, I know.

Blackjack- down $170

Holdem- up $75

Slots- up $790

I'm not proud most of the winnings came from slots. But screw it, they're still winnings.

Edit 2: Went today and had a solid day of holdem. After 2 hours I cashed out $190 up. The very last hand I played 5/7 off suit and flopped a double gut shot straight draw. I turned the nuts and the other player in the hand had flopped trips. Poor guy called my all in on the river.

So just heard that Mohegan Sun is expected to have sports betting up and running by October 1.  Should be a lot of changes in the US this year based on the recent supreme court decision.

Going to make Sundays more fun this fall for sure.

So its 4 in the morning and i should have been in bed by one.  But the donkey called my 2x flop overbet and rivered a bigger 2 pair for a $2400 pot.

Didnt get full revenge yet.  But I m back up about 300.  Action is good at MGM Springfield.  Its a hell of a town.

Had a nice little hit and run today at blackjack.

I only played one shoe, just me and the dealer at the table, and ended up walking away $160 up.

Got lucky as hell in the beginning and won the first 9 hands (3 of which were 16s that I happened to get the 5 after hitting). The rest of the shoe I stayed pretty even. Not a bad payday for only a 15 minute investment.

Been playing NL hold em and pot limit omaha round by round tournaments lately. Keeps you on your toes a bit remembering to change gears when the clock goes off and the game changes. Cashed in my first tourney and have been chasing the dragon every since.
