VictariousReturneth
I saw someone suggest this on another forum: do it in a way where dunk and egg could still show up and have their stories from the novellas but the main focus would be blackfyres and brynden rivers. If so how many seasons could HBO get out of this? Maybe 3, one for each rebellion even though the second one was so short. Just end it with Brynden going to the Wall and later discovering the children's cave and then the final scene could be the tragedy at summerhall. FireAndBlood.
Could they? Obviously. Will they? Probably not. If they do a prequel series once GoT is over it will most likely be Robert's Rebellion.
El Guapo
HBO only as the rights to ASOIF so if they wanted to do Dunk & Egg, George would have to sell it to them.
Ruin
A Blackfyre series could run a couple seasons, especially if they include Aegon the Unworthy. I'd love to see it.
pajamacowboy
I would see it more as movies than shows and seasons
Poète Lauréat
Would be awesome but I doubt it would happen.

Only a couple? Seems like there's potential for more especially if they include the little subplot involving Beron Stark and Dagon.
Reginald blackfield
I think it would be more appropriate to adapt Dunk and Egg as a prequel, I haven't read them yet but still.
The Dragon Demands
It would be utterly inappropriate to make an adaptation of the First Blackfyre Rebellion. From a structural standpoint, it's basically to the Tales of Dunk and Egg as Robert's Rebellion is to A Song of Ice and Fire. It's the big event in the backstory that drives the future actions of the older characters, events reverberating across time. It's such an inherent part of the Tales of Dunk and Egg (taking place 10-20 years later so far) that it's more "backstory to the Tales of Dunk and Egg"...though if I were adapting Tales of Dunk and Egg, I WOULD make use of flashback scenes to the First Blackfyre Rebellion, even though the current "Game of Thrones" TV series has avoided flashbacks. Frankly I think the Dance of the Dragons would make a better project.

clair de lune
If they want an open-ended series, I think they'd be better served by setting a show in the Age of Heroes.
Steelborn
If they want an open-ended series, I think they'd be better served by setting a show in the Age of Heroes. I agree. Or one about the first long night would be awesome as well.
lenniegroove
They should make sure to hire everybody involved in CAPRICA
Magnar of Skagos
If there is to be a Blackfyre rebellion series, it would be awesome to centre around the Ninepenny kings. Having a huge, two-headed Maelys the Monstrous on television would be so badass.
clair de lune
I agree. Or one about the first long night would be awesome as well. Exactly. Both of those would give the showrunners and writers a lot more leeway to do their own thing.
