King in the Narrow Sea
Not In the show=not super important-unless GRRM changes his ending for the book only characters, which is now an actual thing. They only have access to the Winds of Winter. Besides, they've changed a lot of things, so I doubt the series will be all that similar to the book ending. Khal Shaggydog
To some extent power and legitimacy is in the eye of the beholder, as Vary and LF put it , and a commenter above also mentioned, but not when we are dealing with actual dragons. Dany is a full on Targaryen, she hatches and rides and bonds with real live dragons - so if we do ever get a showdown with Dany and Aegon, I think we'll know pretty quick if he's "real" or not. dinner
My point is that Rhaegar wrote The Song of Ice and Fire about his Son Aegon, Not TPTWP, and if Aegon is the song of ice and fire (The name of the series), why would he be dead?Rhaegar wrote the song of ice and fire for TPTWP and he thought that was Aegan but before that Rhaegar thought he himself was TPTWP so Rhaegar makes mistakes. The reality is Jon is the PTWP as he is both ice and fire.
The Sword of the Evening
I believe Aegon lives. "Rhaegar was wrong" is a poor argument. IMO. How so? He was wrong before when he thought that he himself was TPTWP..
Hyperboreer
"Rhaegar was wrong" is a horrible argument. It's not some random video from the past. It's a prophecy. We don't know if this ever happened in the past. Most of the scenes Daenerys was seeing in the House of the Undying actually never happened but were mere symbols, that should give her information or clues what she ought to do. What would be the point of some higher/magical power giving her false information? That would be absolutely senseless..
Lord Wraith
One other possibility is that Aegon was in fact switched, but he isn't the pretender, Young Griff. Any ideas on who he might be?
