misterchief Posted May 14, 2015 Share Posted May 14, 2015 I just finished reading the last third of AFFC after having set it down for more than a year. One thing that I'm confused about is why it is mentioned that Storm's End is under siege. Who is holding Storm's End? Presumably, it is people loyal to Stannis. But I thought that Storm's End had been on the side of Renly instead of on the side of Stannis, and that Renly's supporters generally joined in the war to defend King's Landing from Stannis. So, how come people who are loyal to Stannis are in control of Storm's End? Am I misremembering something? What am I missing? Please, no spoilders from ADWD. But remember that Stannis used Melissandre to spawn another shadow thingy and kill the castellan (Penrose) who was holding it for Renly.As of now Storm's End is held by Stannis men. The siege of Storm's End has been abandoned because Mace Tyrell is returning to King's Landing to defend Margaery... which bodes ill for the Lannister war effort and bodes well for Stannis.
