Trailer thread

I missed this earlier, but there is a great trailer out for the new Steve Jobs biopic. At first I wanted to pass on it, but Fassbender is going to absolutely kill it in this role. Plus, it doesn't look like it's going to be a hagiography of Jobs so it has a chance of being very interesting.

He's going to kill it in Macbeth as well, and then again in a big role as Magneto for the final time.

Also, he has the "Light between Oceans" and "Trespass against us" coming out. The first one especially.

Uhm yeah.. I needed to see this movie yesterday. This might be my #2 most anticipated movie this year after Spectre.

On the topic of SPECTRE, a new trailer was released today, which was great, but it seems very spoiler-y, so fair warning to anyone interested.

I couldn't control myself this time :P Pretty good trailer. I hope this will be as good as Casino Royale :)

The Good Dinosaur trailer is out.  Pixar + Of Monsters and Men = yay!

That looks pretty nice as well. Not at all what I was expecting.

Is it his final time as Magneto? Those other movies also look very promising :)

For the romantics among us, I think Brooklyn might be a treat. It's a romantic drama set in the New York and Ireland of the 1950s, the story revolves around a young Irish girl who has to make a choice between staying in New York or going back to the Emerald Isle. There are some pretty good reviews out there and with the people involved in this that isn't very surprising.

Starring roles for Domnhall Gleeson (of Ex Machina, The Revenant, Harry Potter, Calvary, Frank, Never Let Me Go, Dredd, Star Wars VII and About Time fame. A very good actor who makes excellent professional choices as the movies in the previous sentence show) and Saoirse Ronan. Written by the Nick Hornby, who also wrote An Education (the movie that made Carey Mulligan an overnight sensation). It's apparently based on a novel by Colm Tóibín. So far only a release date for the US, the UK and Ireland has been confirmed (the sixth of November), which sucks for the rest of us because it looks like it could be a great little film.

Honestly the Spectre trailer didn't do much for me but Waltz and Belluci have my a little hype regardless

I give this a good chance of being better than Skyfall. I recently saw part of the film again and it really showed it flaws. It was great visually, but the story was rather poor imo. No good Bond girl or intimidating henchman to be found and the Home Alone finale was a little to out there for my taste. This trailer makes me feel confident enough to predict that we'll have two good Bond girls in this. Batista looks properly intimidating, he gives me some serious oddjob vibes.  I'm also really looking forward to Christopher Waltz. The visuals will be top notch since it's Sam Mendez again (the locations look pretty great already) and I think that storywise it's going to be better. The introduction of Spectre and the return of the gadgets should be enough material to mine a great script from I hope :)

You know, we should perhaps start a most anticipated movie thread for the remainder of 2015. There is some great stuff coming out the next five months. So far I would say that my list would be something like this:

1) The Revenant

2) MacBeth
3) Star Wars VII

4) Sicario

5) Creed

7) Suffragette

8) Legend

9) Straight Outta Compton

10) Brooklyn

11) Spectre

12) Jobs

13) The Hateful Eight

14) The Man From U.N.C.L.E.

15) Mr. Holmes

16) The Martian

17) Crimson Peak

18) The Look of Silence

EDIT: I have added a few titles. I don't think the trailer for Suffragette, Straight Outta ComptonMr. Holmes or Creed has been shared here before.

EDIT: I would have included Southpaw and Sea of Trees in this if it the reviews hadn't been so harsh on those films.

Some things I forgot I wanted to share in this thread:

This long article from the Guardian about Sound Design. Definitely recommended for fans of the Coen brothers, since Skip Lievsay (there go-to guy for sound design apparently) is the focus of the article.

This list from Indiewire with their 100 most anticipated movies. This also includes a lot of movies that don't have a trailer yet (e.g. the two Fassbender ones and the CJF film starring Idris Elba).

I just wanted to fix your list for you....

Hey that might be your list, but I like mine :P I might change my mind if you can retro-actively make the prequels and the Ewoks disappear :P

Sea of Trees and Southpaw are of interest to me as well, but they do not crack my top 6 of:

Star Wars
The Revenant
Hateful Eight
MacBeth
Everest
The Heart of the Sea

From the rest of your list I want to see Sicario, The Martian, maybe Mr Holmes, , maybe Crimson Peak. The recent Bond films have disappointed me, don't like Man from Uncle, not interested in Suffragette or Compton.

The Everest trailer -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ZQVpPiOji0

This is the story of the 1996 tragedy that left climbers dead. I have personally heard this story told by Beck Weathers who just may be the best public speaker that I have ever heard. No matter how good this movie may or may not be, It will pale in comparison to sitting in an audience and listening to this man tell his story.

Oh yeah, that looks really good. I'm a sucker for climbing movies, I must have watched Vertical Limits dozens of times as a kid (The way it depicted climbing was pretty much entirely wrong, but it was an entertaining movie). This also looks like the 3-D could really add something to the mix instead of just being there to induce headaches.

Hmmm, Sean Bean playing Dr. Victor Frankenstein, I'm intrigued.

Oh bugger that looks really good. I really don't like it when ITV has interesting series on, because we never get to see them straight away across the pond. We can only get BBC1 and BBC2, God bless them. I really like Endeavour, but we never got more than the first season and the excellent pilot. Lewis is always great, it's one of the few crimi's that hasn't grown completely stale after all those years. Midsomer Murders, I kind of lost interest in some years ago, but holy shit if John Nettles comes back I'm totally on board again :D

If they're on ITV3 then I think they'll all be repeats of stuff shown on ITV before.
