Ian of Asshai
I'm not sure if it is at all significant...but has anyone noticed how much the Hardhome sequence synced up with what I think most people think to be Melisandre's vision of Hardhome from her chapter? It references arrows arcing above a wooden wall, beneath a great grey cliff. But I think what struck me was how George wrote the following... "Then the wind rose and the white mist came sweeping in, impossibly cold, and one by one the fires went out. Afterward only the skulls remained." And then the scene written as if it was directly inspired from this line from the book....the onscreen portrayal of Hardhome with an actual, literal, giant white mist sweeping in. Was this an obvious connection to everyone else? Or a bit more nuanced?
CyanidePie
It was exactly what it was, and nothing more.
The Targaryen
Yeah, looks like it. Though I believe George meant ''white mist'' as a metaphor for ''white walkers''.
