Hello!

Also new here- I come from a background of Steampunk, baroque music and theatre.

I came to the world of GOT/ASOIAF after being submitted to a marathon of the first season of GOT.

I started reading the series and am on AFFC.

Up til now, I've found the world of fantasy literature post-Tolkien ...unsatisfying, yet GOT/ASOIAF is most enjoyable.

Off to catch up on threads- there's SO much to read and think about here!

Hello all.  After burning though all 6 seasons in a little over a month or so, I thought I would come here for insights, and of course probably ask a lot of questions.  In all honesty, I never thought I would have gotten into this show as much as I did.  I remember people mentioning it here and there in social media and thought I wouldn't like it.  Then a friend of mine suggested it, and I was hooked after the first episode.

I live in western Pennsylvania, and am a full time retail worker.  In addition to Game of Thrones I am a huge fan of Supernatural. In my spare time, if I get any, I like to crochet.

Hey, I'm Mo.

New to the site but long time GOT fan. Show first, then books.

I enjoy discussing the show and theorizing what's coming next.

I made a GOT chat room if anyone's interested. Not sure if I'm allowed to post links here so I won't but if you wanna check it out its in my profile.

Cheers!

Hi! I'm not really new just inexperienced.

I used to be The Girl with Curious Hair, but there were some suspicious things going on on my account which was never resolved on who was doing them...

I decided to come back and see what was going on and see some things, and, to me, it got clearer about who was logging onto my account!

I'm sorry if this concerned anybody. I didn't mean any harm but I decided to get a new email and username just in case.

Anyway, I decided to come back because I liked being here in my spare time with lots to read and to learn some opinions. :)

Greetings House James here. We have had a hard time of it all ever since my true leader and friend King Robert Baratheon died. I miss the days when we held our own against the Mad King. Old Targarayen scum.

I sided with Stannis and lost many good swords in the battle of the Blackwater.

I did not follow him North due to my personal sectarian divisions and my long standing dislike of R'hllor.

I follow the Old Religion since our forefathers were peasants in the Stark lands North. We are a minority here for now.

There is a power vacuum currently in our lands with our many losses on the battlefield. Our left over swords specialise in Phalanx warfare and fortification.

Our Standard is a storm fighters Castle over a Green not Red Baratheon heart symbolising the Old Religion and none of this fire death cult the old stags have burned themselves in.

I wish you all safe passage in the storm

Hi, my name's Shirley. I'm late to this television series, and the books. I started the first book 4 months ago, then watched GOT S1. I started the next book, then broke down and just watched the rest of the seasons non-stop. So, long story short, I'm partway through my third viewing of the series and thinking of going back to the books to glean more insight to the characters.

I'm a lone fan, nobody I know is into this series. I know my husband, who passed away 1 1/2 years ago, would have enjoyed watching this, and I miss having someone to talk to about it.

Hello, I'm Angela (not April - the name is an Opeth song). I joined a while back but have been busy with school. Huge fan of the show, have not read the books, but am sitting on the audio books which I will probably start this summer. :D

Hi Guys!

My name is Goldeh (Real handle is Steven :)).

Massive fan of the show and the books. After the first season came out, i bought and read the entire collection within a couple weeks! It was none stop, A Feast for Crows was a bit slow but i want to go back and properly digest it as it felt like a bit of a slog a times compared the the page turner of the others. I think i'll enjoy it more now the second time through reading them as i'm not in a rush to find out what happens next!

Anyway, hopefully will be around the forums and will chat to you guys about all things ASOIAF! :)

Anyhow everyone. Welcome to the forum!
