This is the time of the year most of us who are able to be are gone from NYC. This includes me, but I'm not on vacation -- just working out of town gigs. I hope you don't let this color you too badly about NYC... my first exposure was none too pleasant (though not to your extremes), but my second past at it made some fonder memories.
