Mark Antony
Best drama seems kinda weak this year. Odd that The Americans and Better Call Saul got skipped there. Rooting heavy for Rhys, Russell, and Lena Headey.
HexMachina
Small correction, Thandie Newton should be under supporting role in a Series, not Limited Series. (I'm guessing you took the list on Variety? She is also listed in that category there, but I think it must be a mistake. Westworld wasn't a limited series)

She is down in the wrong category here though, as Ancalagon has her in Best Actress for Limited Series or Motion Picture. Thandie should be in the Supporting category (and even if she wasnt, she would go to lead actress in a drama rather than limited series).

"Confirmation" is indeed a TV movie, so I think that makes sense. As for Lead Actress, I think HBO is pushing only ERW.

Of the three I've watched I think Stranger Things and Westworld are well-deserved. Not seen This is Us, and Thrones was expected for me anyway. I wouldn't have nominated the Crown though, so many better dramas that could have been nominated instead. But I don't think the pool is too weak. Personally I'm rooting for Westworld. Agree with you that Rhys should win (didn't finish S4 yet but if he just kept up his usual quality then definitely). Not sure about Russell, she is in a tough catrgory. I won't be at all disappointed if she wins, but honestly anyone except Balfre is fine by me as lead Actress

Every single frame of Rhys' acting is a pure joy for me. Generally, this is a stacked category and between many outstanding leading actors, what Rhys is able to conjure is truly mesmerizing. He has my vote any given date. Russell too. This season, there was a conversation between Elizabeth and Paige and it was such a poignant moment for Russell's character. That mimicry, the way her facial muscles moved, how the vein on her forehead showed. Everything was perfect. Caitriona and generally "Outlander" seems to have special place in the hearts of HFPA. She will never win but it is good for her and the show to get this sort of buzz. Evan Rachel Wood is winning this, I suppose.

The best since Gandolfini and Falco imo. @HelenaExMachina yeah I guess weak was a little harsh I mean I loved Westworld and really enjoyed s6 of Thrones. Wasn't quite as sold on Stranger Things but yeah I guess I just thought that The Americans and BCS were better written not that that's all that matters when it comes to prestige dramas. I'll be rooting for Westworld right along side you.

Baitac
I'm glad to see that Westworld and Stranger Things have received nominations. They were my favorite shows this year. Also, Bryce Dallas Howard was excellent in her Black Mirror episode. I'm glad she was recognized too.

Olivia Colman is a damn fine actress but please, she had fuck all to do in The Night Manager. Either Thandie or Lena would have been worthy winners. The globes snubbing SFF again. Also,The Crown is a snorefest!
HexMachina
Disappointed to see The Crown win best drama, and Foy best Drama actress. The Crown was alright but nowhere near the other contenders. Would have liked to see Westworld or Stranger Things win, And while Foy was good as Elizabeth, the likes of ERW, Winona Ryder, and Keri Russel are far superior to her in acting skills. Never managed to watch The Night Manager but I've seen a lot of people echo Ancalagon's comments about Coleman. Thandie was outstanding so I would have liked her to win. And having *finally* watched Thrones season 6 (it's been rerunning on Sky Atlantic, concluding last night) I can say Lena would have been a worthy winner too. Dont watch enough comedy to judge those awards, unfortunately. I'm sure the Board will be happy though since Atlanta seems greatly loved here
Corvinus85
Like Ancalagon said, the Globes continue to have an aversion to SFF. The Emmys and Oscars have been getting rid of that aversion, but the Globes are trying to find any excuse to not award a SFF show.
Dr. Pepper
The Crown? Seriously? I mean, it was a nice little binge watch but it wasn't superb in any way. Is this going to be the new Downton Abbey that somehow manages to win all the awards despite a pretty lazy plot and screenplay?
Mark Antony
Haven't seen the Crown yet but it's not like the competition it was up against were especially well written shows. Shame Lena Headey hasn't gotten any wins for being the best part of Thrones for the last two seasons.
