The Old man Logan storyline has wayyyy too much death and blood to not be Rated R.

Won't spoil it, but many people die. haha

A shame that Fox doesn't have the rights to pretty much all of the ones that do die.

Hugh Jackman releases title for new Wolverine movie as well as teaser poster.

It will simply be called "Logan."

The teaser image in the link above has an oldish looking hand with claws out being held by a small child's hand.

Probably going to be X-23. Or, I guess they could go with Daken. But, my money is on X-23.

Another tidbit that I don't think I knew about the movie from that article as well:

Quote
Mister Sinister and his “Essex Corp” are confirmed to be the villain(s) of the film, with a number of choices for who could be playing him, including Boyd Holbrook (possible), Richard E. Grant (likely), or even Stephen Merchant (probably not). We know that the primary villains for the film will include both The Reavers, as well as Wolverine’s favorite group, Weapon X. It stands to reason that Sinister’s role in the film will be tied to the creation of X-23, the young female clone of Wolverine also along for the film’s road trip, which makes the post-credit scene for X-Men: Apocalypse finally make some sense.

@Manhole Eunuchsbane Any chance of just getting this renamed as the main Logan thread?

There are pictures of Stephen Merchant as Caliban, presumeably they've added slow ageing to his powers as he's just appeared in Apocalypse.

There's a pic of the villain as well. Sorry about the obnoxious way it's popped up, Instagram confuses me.

Trailer...

Looks good. I'm intrigued.

That looks pretty good and a lot different from what I was expecting. I like the look of Donald Pierce and the Reavers.

Then again I though the trailers for X-Men: Apocalypse and Days of Future Past looked pretty good too and they still ended up as disappointments, so we'll see how this pans out.

So that trailer looks really good (and I've had a soft spot for the X-Men movies even as I've gotten very tired of superhero movies overall), but it completely destroys my understanding of the X-Men timeline.

Is this set back in doomed timeline that ends with the future shown in Days of Future Past or is this in the new timeline set in that movie that continued into Apocalypse? I thought Patrick Stewart's version of Xavier was only in the doomed timeline, but it looks like he's dying in this movie so it can't be set before Days of Future Past (yet the setting of the movie looks like it can't be set after Days of Future Past either). So I guess this is the new timeline, but if that's the case how is Patrick Stewart here and everything looks like its a few years in the future; the other timeline hasn't gotten out of the 1980s yet.

Was that melting bag of flesh at the end him? What happened?

Spoiler

Basically Dr Cornelius (the dude who bonded Adamantium to Wolverine) is trying to do the job properly, he's trying to complete his life's work and make weapon X without wolverines violent and unruly nature. So he's been trying to bond Adamantium to test subjects he's done mind shit to, but without wolverines healing factor they all die. He's lured Wolverine to him for this reason, but he doesn't realise Wolverine has lost his factor. Wolverine almost gets to him, so Cornelius initiates the bonding process to stall him while he escapes. Wolverine cuts the tank holding the Adamantium before it can kill the other subjects, but ends up covered in the molten metal. Then kills (the already wounded) Cornelius and succumbs to his death, covered in hardening (almost) indestructible metal.

It wasn't the end most were expecting, which was all arse kicking and bloody. It was a quieter true heroic sacrifice thing, giving his life for three people who probably hate and fear him. I like the idea, it just wasn't really executed very well.
