Songs that Make Us Think of A Song of Ice and Fire

Lost Melnibonean

I am probably not the first to figure this out, but John the Fiddler with his golden fiddle sigil is a direct reference to "The Devil went down to Georgia".

In that song a man named Johnny battles the Devil for a golden fiddle, if he loses the Devil gets his soul.

I took the trouble to write for your pleasure new lyrics.

John the Fiddler couch your lance and ride that warhorse hard

Cause hells broke loose in Whitewalls and Brynden Rivers deals the cards

If you win you get this shiny crown made of gold

But if you lose Bloodraven gets your soooooouuuuuulllllllll

For Bran, and pretty easy to figure out why

Clutch (, just not Elephant Riders, except Jam Room. I do like Jam Room. So sue me!)- Spacegrass

Dodge Swinger 1973, Galaxy 500,
All the way stars' green, gotta go.
Dodge Swinger 1973, top down, chassis low,
Panel dim, light drive, Jesus on the dashboard.
T-minus whenever it feels right, Galaxy 500.
Planets align, a king is born.

Whenever it feels right
Whenever it feels right
Whenever it feels right
Whenever it feels right

Dodge Swinger 1973, top down, chassis free,
Buzz Aldrin, Armstrong, or maybe just me.
Don't worry, it's coming.
Don't worry, it's coming.
Jesus on the dashboard.

Whenever it feels right
Whenever it feels right
Whenever it feels right
I turn on the radio.

Hey kid, are you going my way?
Hop in, we'll have ourselves a field day.
We'll find us some spacegrass,
Lay low, watch the universe expand.
Skyway, permanent Saturday.
Oh, by the way, Saturn is my rotary.
Hop in, it'll be eternity
Till we make it to M83.

Once around the Sun, cruising, climbing.
Jupiter cyclops winks at me, yeah, he knows who's driving.
Hit neutral in the tail of a comet.
Let the vortex pull my weight.
Push the seat back a little lower.
Watch light bend in the blower.
Planets align.
A king is born.
Dodge Swinger.
Jesus on the dashboard.

Whenever it feels right
Whenever it feels right
Whenever it feels right
Whenever it feels right

Fantastic!

Bloodraven opened up his face and he said, “I’ll start this show.”

And fire flew from his fingertips as he strung up his bow,

And he pulled the bow acros his fingers and it made an evil hiss,

And a band of Daemons joined in and it sounded something like this.

Fire on the Mountain! Run, boys, run!

Bloodravens in the House of Blackfyre’s son.

Song for Jon.

Burn by The Cure (from The Crow soundtrack)

"Don't look don't look," the shadows breathe,
Whispering me away from you.
"Don't wake at night to watch her sleep,
You know that you will always lose
This trembling, adored, tousled bird-mad girl."

But every night I burn,
Every night I call your name
Every night I burn,
Every night I fall again

"Oh don't talk of love," the shadows purr,
Murmuring me away from you.
"Don't talk of worlds that never were;
The end is all that's ever true.
There's nothing you can ever say,
Nothing you can ever do."

Still every night I burn,
Every night I scream your name
Every night I burn,
Every night the dream's the same
Every night I burn,
Waiting for my only friend
Every night I burn,
Waiting for the world to end

"Just paint your face," the shadows smile,
Slipping me away from you.
"Oh, it doesn't matter how you hide,
Find you if we're wanting to.
So, slide back down and close your eyes,
Sleep a while, you must be tired."

But every night I burn,
Every night I call your name
Every night I burn,
Every night I fall again
Every night I burn,
Scream the animal scream
Every night I burn,
Dream the crow black dream

Dream the crow black dream.

I found a song called How Red Wedding Goes that I really liked.

LYRICS:

Now there once was a time when the northerners sang
Of a king they had crowned: More a boy than a man
More a pup than a wolf, with the cold of the realm in his eyes

He’d broken a vow to the lords of the twins:
Wed a stranger, a beauty, but a promise there’d been
So the lord frey demanded a bridegroom as compromise

And the timbers groaned
River wind softly moaned
“Oh, the king in the north doesn’t know
How a red wedding goes”

Well, the feasting was plenty and the singing in tune
And the stark wolves, they howled ‘neath their northern moon
So loud were their cries that the closing of doors was drowned out

Lady catelyn alone had the river’s sharp ear
Heard dancing reels turn to the rains of castamere
In her skin and bones growled a creature of doubt

And the timbers groaned
River wind softly moaned,
“Oh, the king in the north soon will know
How a red wedding goes”

There were arrows and daggers, and the touch of them burned;
From players to slayers in an instant were turned
And the foreigner queen was the first to fall under the knife

With two arrows in him, the king crawled to her side
While his mother, she pleaded for the lord to subside
But he’d taken their word, and to break it meant no right to life

And the timbers groaned
River wind softly moaned
“Oh, the king in the north, now he knows
How a red wedding goes”

Lord bolton approached; with a thrust to robb’s heart
He gave him the lannister lions’ regards
And the king’s mother wept, for his last word had called her to him

There was nothing she felt cutting lady frey’s throat
And she felt nothing more when they slashed her own
The north will remember, she thought, and they’ll have all your skins

And the timbers groaned
Now the wolves lie below
Oh, the king in the north, if he’d known
How a red wedding goes

And the timbers groan
But the north waits; they know
That one day the blood they ared owed
Will run ‘neath their soles

Since You've Been Gone,  for Eddard.

Sixteen Going on Seventeen for Queen Margaery.

Stranger in a Strange Land (full of ice and snow) for Stannis.

For Renly, that big overblown anthem from Queen.

Barbie girl in a Barbie world for Cersei Lannister.

Britney Spears' Poison as the Baelish / Sansa love theme.

All the Single Ladies for Robert Baratheon.

Work Bitch - - - the Night King.

Insane in the Membrane for Varys , and, by extension, let's make that King's Landing's official jam.  Like, if this was a network sitcom that's what'd be playing as we faded in to a scene set in KL.

(Heart's) Black on Black for Arya.

Kickass 2's heroic theme for Hot Pie.

Captain America: Winter Soldier theme for Brienne.

7 Nation War for Daenerys as someone Must have already said.

(I don't want to) Set the World on Fire = Tywin Lannister & The Mountain love theme.

War (What is it Good For?) goes to Robb.

I Kissed a Girl is for Sam Tarly.

Girl From Ipanema, playing on a loop in Lord Tyrell's noggin.

I Only Have Eyes for You , Jaime & Cersei Lannister love.

Crazy (Patsy Cline??) would be the Boltons.

Closing Time,  Tyrion.

99 Problems.     Jon Snow.

Peace Sells , But Who's Buying?       Meereen Theme.

Bon Jovi's Living on a Prayer - - - replace the two names in the song with Myrcella and her Lannister boy king brother.

Shake It Off - - - Bran.

Dog Days Are Over - - the dragons' theme

My #1 Game of Thrones song, though, would be the theme they play at the start of each episode.

The Enfields "Im for things you do," kept popping into my mind for the ADWD plotlines in the north. (Jon, Bran, Stannis, Theon, Mel)
