I thought all 3 ToJ Kingsguard were renamed? Like there was an article about that a few days ago? Or was that confirmed to be lies?

Also, minor rant: I was in a B&N today and saw that aGoT now has a new cover based off of the banner for this scene with the HoBaW faces. First of all, that seems rather spoilery for the first book, so nitpick there. Second of all, I became aware of the fact that once tWoW comes out, the only cover of it we'll get will be based off of the show and just... ugh. I don't want show crap on my cover of tWoW, I want something simple like the old covers.

I think (hope?) the fake names were just code names. But who the hell knows.

I won't buy any book with any show shit on the cover, end of story. And I have every single ASoIaF book/audiobook, in hard cover, paper back, and Ebook.

It was from 4chan (/ tv/ section). Someone (most likely from France) was looking for a safe way to leak the 1st episode. He went on to post several pics from the show to prove it was real. (No, far as I know episode hasn't been leaked yet)

Few years back, there used to someone who used to post pictures and storylines from upcoming episodes fews hours before the show aired on TV.  HBO found a way to stop the leak.

Whenever something leaks out, you can be pretty sure that it originated either in 4chan or Reddit.

  Reveal hidden contents

BYW, the one of the leaked  summary suggested that the Mel would be using glamour on Olly and his body would be one that's burned and Jon Snow's body would be saved for resurrection. . At first I dismissed it, but since it's now been proven that Mel uses glamour in the show, I think the switch a roo will happen in upcoming episodes.

So there is the source. Well, at first i didn't want to believe that but then I forgot D&D are creators...so yeah it's possible

The bit about Olly being glamoured sounds familiar. I saw it in that leaked season 6 summary that was making rounds few months ago.

But you'll still find fans defending show Ellaria and the bad pusey brigade's actions by stating that they wanted revenge. I mean now that the theme of this show has become all about revenge, I wonder why they even need the WWs. Everyone's out for revenge and killing one other and that should be enough to wipe out the population of Westeros.

Dorne, Ellaria , Sand Snakes that is beyond any redemption. I wish they just never introduce them. They turned for me one of the most enjoyable part of the books as Dorne into this. At this point WW seems like the best option out there, but just watch D&D to screw them up somehow.

I'll just get the e-book version if that's the case (do those come with covers?).  I'm sure they'll come out with a non-show edition at some point, but I will be really mad if tWoW isn't initially released without at least a non-show option.

Gonna watch this just for the laughs. Few things I enjoy but what the hell was that.

I can't stand it anymore. I'll rely on people here to post summarys.

It would have been so easy to drop Dorne in the show as well... Saving them a few extra minutes to be used elsewhere and maybe freeing up some space to introduce a few characters sorely needed in the other story lines or send Jaime to the Riverlands like in the books and not have him spin in Dorne for a full season of nothing. Could have given him the same amount of screentime as in season 2 if they didn't want him to finish his book plot before season 6 or something. What we got instead was a disgrace of an adaptation of the Dorne plot that gave us bizzaro versions of the characters.

Why, why did they have to implement Dorne at the last second? how could they possibly think that would result in anything other than disaster? Especially when Aegon was defiantly not going to be in the series...

Couldn't agree more. No Aegon,no Arianne, Darkstar, butchery of Doran and Areo. You have a great actors and you do this? More bad pussy. I thought with Oberyn they might be good but this is seriously insult to Oberyn and Pedro Pascal's and his work. Can you imagine what IronBorn is gonna be like. My word, can't wait for that or Riverlands. It will be like btw Red Wedding happened 2.5 seasons ago and if LSH is there. Even better. They don't have a plan, just make things up as they go.

That is how I stayed on top of S5. I still haven't even watched the whole season.

Same.

I think it's obvious now that they've announced the shortened final seasons that the "We don't have the time" excuse (that they've been feeding us for YEARS) was never valid. The things they actually didn't have: patience, foresight, talent, and taste.

Just a heads up on ebook covers, sometimes they will be updated with the app/e-reader software. I use kobo and my ASOIAF and Liveships/Tawny Man covers have all been updated over the last couple of years.

They defiantly do not have the patience any longer, after aSoS they seem to have lost most interest and want to move on. I mean they include characters named after people they know as in-jokes and shout-outs to people they hate or work with (at least if the rumour of house Mazin or whatever being included in the North instead of some other actual house is correct). Instead of using time to build the other storylines or the characters present, which brings me to another baffling thing about this show. Why are there so few if any scenes talking about the war or where battles are unfolding, any mention of the ironborne taking Moat Callin and ravaging the North, Tullies being besieged, unrest among the peasants in the apparently existing Riverlands, any mention of the Brotherhood after season 3, what happened to Dragonstone, what happened to Storm's End, Slaver's Bay and the fates of Dany's conquered cities and the others not touched (and i mean more than that throw away line in season 4). A line from Jon confirming he told people of what happened at Hardhome... why can't they write more dialogue that instead of telling us nothing actually builds the world around them or further the characters, dialogue that multitasks instead of beetle speeches, nothing is nothing,  GW+M love story talks that just feels endless, more of S. Tyrion's monologues or Dany's, rabbit skinning scene and so forth.

They don't have to completely ignore a place even if it is not showing up for a season. Something hinting at activity in these places can go a long way of just expanding the world, make it feel like it is more than the few characters we are following. If they then decide to axe one of the plots in these areas fine, i am sure it is possible to resolve it in another line of dialogue if they need to or put it back with another.

What a waste of Dr. Bashir. But hey, it's only tits and dragons. /for the money

You have to wonder if Dr Bashir read the scripts why he signed on, he was a real loser in this incarnation!

You know, today is the last day of proper calm before the storm. I am trying to think of an appropriate speech or quote from the books as we prepare ourselves for tonight and the next ten weeks, but I got nothing. New things to rant about. More facepalming and facedesk-ing. More enduring the praise of the critics. One can only hope that in our darkest hour, George will come to us and say "I finished Winds. Here's the release date." And we shall cheer. Yaaaaay.

"I swear it by earth and water", said the boy in green.

"I swear it by bronze and iron", his sister said.

"We swear it by ice and fire", they finished together.

At the meeting D$D had with GRRM to decide whether he would allow them to adapt AsoiaF instead of asking the D$s "who is Jon Snows mother" the George should probably asked "did you like my books?" or perhaps more importantly "have you read them?" beacuse I am now inclined to believe that the correct answer to both would have been "NO"!

He should've asked them to write a long essay about themes and do very in-depth character analyses, as well as a plan of how exactly they plan to adapt it into a TV show. And he should've demanded a contract that would give him superior creative control over the show (at least that's what I would do I was George, but I realise this would interfere with his book writing). He shouldn't have asked who Jon's mother as the decisive question as to whether or not D&D are fit to adapt his work, wasn't R+L=J a popular theory years before the meeting ever occurred? It's really not that hard to figure out.
