Gift theory

So I have a theory I haven't seen anyone here propose, regarding the gift to Ramsay.

As a lot of people pointed out, Rickon does not make sense, as Ramsay has never seen him, so the sight wouldn't make him so happy. It might make sense from the narrative perspective though.

Theon might be heading to Pyke after all, as some leaked sources show.

What if it is Sansa, BUT with a twist? I think what might happen is that we get a scene of Sansa being surrounded, and then the "gift"- Sansa which is handed in to Ramsay by one of the Stark loyalists. They enter Winterfell as an escort and then take Winterfell over for Sansa. As in, they turned sides and D&D did not show the scene to the viewers. I think it's a very D&D thing to do, as you get incredible tension with Sansa returning to imprisonment, you get the twist AND it can be done with just 2 scenes (and time seems to be a huge deal for D&D this season, as they have rushed many important scenes).

What do you guys think? Likely/unlikely?

If Sansa enters WF with Umber men who are loyal to her, Ramsay would get killed and there would be no battle with the Bolton's since they would all be dead. Plus you can't discount the trailer with Umber banners flinging arrows together with Bolton banners. Either way this season is supposed to be about Sansa's rise and empowerment, so her returning to imprisonment doesn't make sense.

In summation, unlikely.

Not going to happen. Why would there be a huge battle at the end of the season if Ramsay already lost Winterfell...his claim would be over.

And why would Rickon need to be recognized by Ramsay to make Ramsay happy? "I just lost my Stark claim on Winterfell...my alliances at this point are on thin ice...now I have this huge bargaining chip for any pro-Stark resistance with Rickon Stark"...that's way more than enough to make him happy.

The trailers clearly showed a huge battle between Bolton men and Wildlings and other northern houses loyal to the Starks. The gift is most likely Rickon(or fake Rickon...one can hope, right?). Taking Ramsey out this early like that wouldn't make much sense based on what we've seen.

I have a feeling the gift is Theon. Deepwood Motte is taken back by the Glovers, so there are no Ironborn left in the North. Theon has to go via White Harbor to get a ship to Pyke... but the Manderleys are in league with the Boltons. What if we get the speech and Theon gets taken by the Manderleys, only to show the Boltons their loyalty truly lies with them. After the great battle, Theon is spared by Jon on Sansas request and is allowed to take a ship to Pyke.

It is mostly Rickon and Osha, Ramsay knows Osha, and that explains the Grin. And as someone already mentioned, we need a lovable character within ramsay's reach for him to torment and for D&D to torment us :)

I think someone said sources confirmed it wasn't them on the crosses. But since the person didn't post a link, I can't verify that and only hope they're right.

Why not fake Arya? It would steer the storyline back to that of the books.

In the pink letter, Ramsey can say everything 1: Stannis dead, give me back my wife, I have fAyra instead of Mance.

Why on earth would they do that after they already used the storyline for Sansa...the whole point of the marriage was to fool the northern lords and garner their support. If they know he was married to Sansa already...why would he need a fake Arya now? There's no time for that, it's been done. It's Rickon.

Rickon who?

My initial thought when hearing 'gift' was actually Arya (or Jeyne Poole). In one of the earlier trailers we hear Ramsey addressing someone (who I think we can assume is Jon): "Winterfell is mine. Come and see." I have a feeling the Pink Letter/ Jeyne Poole story line is finally going to happen. It was, after all, Jon's decision to save 'Arya' that led him to his death in DOD. I think Ramsey is going to use Arya as a way to lure Jon into finally leaving the watch (if being murdered wasn't enough already, yeesh) and into battle.

Given the material we were presented in the trailers, Rickon would indeed make more sense than SansaTroyanHorse. Which is a pity, as this season is supposedly the one in which Sansa rises to power. If it's Rickon, then I'm afraid there are plenty of ways in which the whole conflict in the North might play out without Sansa even participating in it. And Sansa just joining Jon in Castle Black and following him is not something I would call empowerment.
