Status Crow
Did anyone else catch this? Perhaps it's apropos of nothing, but Eddard and Jon utter the very same lines verbatim. Here's a young Ned sparring with Benjen at Winterfell (S6 E02): And here's Jon Snow sparring with Ollie at Castle Black (S5 E01). The lines and the physical interactions are virtually identical:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZRdPsLVyb-Y
jugdesh258
Who hasn't caught themselves repeating that goofy oft used phrase of your parents after you become one yourself? "If you don't stop now we can turn the car around now and forget the whole thing"
Channel4s-JonSnow
Good spot. It must be a mistake however, D&D never pay attention to detail
WinterPool Stark
lol I honestly thought I'd come in here and read something like "does anyone else think this is what happens to Hodor?"
Rickon Stark The Aulë
Honestly, Ned could have done the same thing to Jon and Jon decided to say the same thing for Ollie No one said that it had to be mistake most likely it was purposely put in. Status Crow
The exposition of each scene is identical, from the swordplay to the falling boy, from the verbatim dialog to the affectionate tussle of the hair. It's most assuredly by design. Much ado about nothing, perhaps, but again, their dead-on similarities struck me as curious.
Zoe Stark
This very interesting... It shows how Jon has a brotherly love for Ollie and that's why it was so difficult to kill him in the end, despite the betrayal. There could also be a parallel in that Jon is becoming respected authority figure in the North as Ned was. I also think Jon is learning from Ned's and his own mistakes of putting too much trust in the wrong people.
Melisandre's White Pubes
If it was deliberate, and THOUGHTFUL (I know, unlikely), it would be evidence against the hypothesis that Hodor got that way from being hit in the head. I doubt Ned would use the same term for a head injury during training with Jon if a training accident with Hodor in his youth resulted in brain damage, after Ned had warned him the same way.
