[Spoilers] Criticize Without Repercussion

another thing from Ep4... Did Tyrion give the slavers slave girls...or were they freed women/prostitutes...

The MIracle of St. Tyrion at Mereen: "Yea did the Dwarf Titan clap his hands and did he sippeth the wine, and Slavers lay down with the slaves."  -Book of Cognitive Dissonance, Chapter 6 verse 4.

Wherever whores go apparently means Wherever Tyrion tells them too.

A big problem I had was Sansa after being on the run and abused and couldnt even remember her courtesies is trying to guilt Jon into taking WF or she'll do it? Huh? Like a completely different character.

Those were hardened women making a choice.

If I was inclined to give d$d the benefit of the doubt I could see them setting st tyrion the insufferable to make a huge mistake with the slavers but I don't see that happening

the slavers will be the bad guy despite all st tyrion does and he will mount a dragon to enact some righteous revenge

Hmmm better than the previous episodes, but that's not saying much. The main problem with this episode though was it really showed how the writers are struggling without GRRM's material to back them up and are now unimaginatively repeating some of the earlier events even though they are not very good fits - so Osha is really going to repeat her Theon plot with Ramsey..? Okay... And I don't like Dany at the best of times, but yeah (as others have stated) lets make her repeat her unburnt scene from the first season... That was a crowd pleaser, wasn't it guys, so lets just repeat that and hope no-one notices... Even if it makes no bloody sense, make her fire-proof for some reason and just makes her a cold blooded murderer... Yeah, lets cheer for Dany now...

Also, with the inclusion of the pink letter, it really emphasised how little material they have to work with; with no Mance, no Stannis, no washerwoman, no Reek they seemed to be reduced to repeating the line 'go come and get me' over and over again live that was really going to do the job...

It demonstrates that they missed the point of what made that S1 scene great. It was a fitting end to a season because it closed out a phase of her development. From a little girl to a character who now has the potential to be something truly great. A real player. It was a great scene because of where she came from not because a hot naked chick walked out of a fire.

In this scene, it was missing that whole background. The development for her is that she is now immune to fire - as well as having 3 arson machines. That development just feels a bit cheap when compared to the development made the first go round.

I refuse to even call it by that name. Apart from the significance to the story of the original, was this one even pink?

I had to laugh at how long and over-the-top the letter was... I guess the book "pink letter" wasn't creepy or threatening enough.

Look, we know Ramsay is a bad dude -- he has to murder someone every week just to remind us -- so did we really need a long description of how he's going to come rape and flay everyone in his path? "I will rape your sister...and then my 20 Good Men will rape her..." I'm surprised he didn't threaten to flay and rape Ghost, Wun Wun, and the Night King for good measure.

(And yet, somehow, he already forgot about Reek.)

Long time lurker, but I've been disappointed by the show for a while now. At least there seems to be lots of like-minded people here.

So, D&D modus operandi is: we get backlash for sexual violence against women last season, so in this one we turn it around with the cheapest, lamest sort of feminism imaginable, and wait for the audience to eat it up.

Way to go. Now a lot of people who got outraged by Sansa's prolonged marital rape will be satisfied? How can they be so gullible?

The overly long Pinkish Letter was just typical of D$D - over the top and dialled up to 11.  They can't even spell subtle.

I wonder how many of us shouted at the TV "and I want my Reek."

Welcome to the board!

There are two answers to your last question: Hubris and $$$.

Thanks!

Also, are still show defenders going to push the narrative that the show is streamlining Feast and Dance? The Meereen knot is here, the Kingsmoot is here, Arya's training is being stretched through two seasons, the "Battle of Ice" will be rehashed with Jon instead of Stannis. And none of these arcs is being improved, much to the contrary. With Dany's struggle with the slavers being passed to Tyrion  being the more offensive example for a "feminist" show.

Please stop talking nonsense, show fans!

LMAO.

Another super obvious continuity error......why doesn't Ramsay want Reek back?  LMAO...cause Dan and Dave already sent him to another set.  It's not even about paralleling the books, but he had two high born hostages, and now both are gone, but he only wants one back.

I guess his super Bond Villain powers allowed him to know that Theon and Sansa split up, or maybe he's got one of the lost seeing stones somewhere.

This is very true. Nothing has been cut or streamlined, and contrary to all the hype about how the show was "going beyond the books" into unknown territory, this season has almost entirely been about circling back to Feast/Dance material that, if it wasn't going to be omitted, should have been in Season 5 (if not earlier). The Battle of Ice*, Battle of Slaver's Bay, and Cersei's trial (or whatever is going to happen in King's Landing to resolve the boring Sparrow storyline) -- all of which belong more to the deferred climax of ADWD than to TWOW -- look like they will be the focal points of the season, and in each case it feels like we're approaching the payoff far too slowly, not the other way around. They're not 'cutting fat' and racing towards a conclusion...they're dragging their feet, almost as if they expected to be able to draw ideas from another book by now and aren't quite sure what to do with themselves without one.

*--and I think you're exactly right about elements of Stannis' role being transferred to Jon here.

If he had left Winterfell with her when she asked none of that would have happened.

Maybe, but she already criticized him for that and she was the one who did not gave him enough soldiers to defend and had left him in dreadfort because shirtless ramsay is too scary.

I guess the showrunners forgot about him because he parted ways with Sansa. They don't seem to think as far as that Ramsay wouldn't know about this.

Classicaly Tyrion now only drinks, japes and insults other people. His whole character from previous seasons have been destroyed.

And Dany has became ignorant, vain and cruel woman who enjoys burning people alive.

But this is how Dumb&Dumber see their favorite characters so i should shut up and praise their mastermind.

Heh, I'll laugh my ass off if George announces Winds is ready before the season ends and will be on shelves before season seven but probably not soon enough to influence the season and to tide us over here is a Barristan chapter, an Osha chapter, and a Stannis chapter.

I gotta admit this episode was better than the last one simply because episode 3 was awful.

I could do without King's Landing. What a bore with Jaime following Cersei around and the High Sparrow just talking on and on and on. I like Maester Pycelle, he should be in more scenes. Jaime is just...there. What is he doing? nothing. I like that things are finally moving forward. The Tyrells will bring in the army.
Actually, this episode a lot of things HAPPENED, when comparing to absolutely nothing happening in episode 3.
We had the letter from Ramsay. There will be war in King's Landing. Dany has an army again. The Vale will help Jon.

I ain't the biggest Loras fan, but he's pretty cool in the books. Le show has turned him into a little cyka. Shameful display all around. Take away all the things that make him cool and capitalize on something that's only hinted at in the books. Good work, D&D.

But he's gay. And male. Of course he's going to be a weak whimpering mess!!
