The Kingsmoot

I think we will find that Euron burned the fleet in Mereen, and then headed to the Iron Islands to claim the throne before returning with the fleet to woo Dany.  Theon/Yara will beat him to Mereen, where Euron will get baked by the dragons, and there will be a new Queen of the Iron Islands who escorts some Dothraki/Unsullied to Westeros?

I think they needed the horn because without it even GRRM did not write a compelling case for Euron's selection above Asha/Yara so DD had no chance, but I guess plot and moving the story forward is now paramount. The actor is also miscast, having a Scandinavian accent is a Wildling thing now so it jars as well as him being weak in the cold light of day as he was good in the dark on the bridge.  The Tormund actor would have been a far better choice, but then he is just about  the best actor in the whole ensemble now and can't be everywhere.

With the show trying to condense story lines and bring characters together, I don't understand why they felt the need to include the Ironborn at all.  Dany was already established as having a fleet.

The Kingsmoot on the show was complete and utter shit.  When I read the book, the reason I felt Euron won the Kingsmoot was because he had the dragon horn.  It got my attention, and without it I don't understand why his speech was more compelling than Yara's.  I also hated the fact that Theon is there.  And why would he want to murder Theon and Yara after?

The fleet in Mereen was burned by Ramsay's 20 good men.  I predicted this before the season started.

My guess is D&D didn't plan on having Euron - or at least that particular storyline of the Ironborn reaching out to Dany - on the show before, which is why they gave Dany Meereen's fleet. But then they changed their minds, probably because of the news of an eight season, so they had to get rid of her fleet, hence the burning. It's just a thought, of course.

First I've felt very sceptic about Euron casting, then I saw the bridge scene with balon and I was like "Man this Euron looks badass, he will make a great Crow's Eye(s) after all". And now after the kingsmoot scene I'am nothing but heartbroken. On my scale this kingsmoot scene was as much shit-storm as all the dorne scenes. Iam just loosing hope with this show.

And the brilliant Emmy winning dialogue he has to work with. " where is my niece and nephew, let's go murder them". Such intelligence, so much charisma, what a guy!!

Bridge scene with Euron wasn't so great either, but of course nothing can be compared to this atrocity. He only recited few lines from books without context and then killed balon in self-defence after he attacked him with dagger.

Good question. Perhaps they go in search of Dany too? Euron get's there later and ends up playing Quentyns role? Those Dragons have get out somehow.

I agree with the sentiment that Euron will play quentyns role. other evidence is that Euron has to die somehow, the book leads us to believe that the kingsmoot will be in validated because theon wasnt there. but on the show he was.  so hes got to die
