The Knight in Motley
Book Petyr is much better at covering his tracks, by which I mean he does cover them. Show Petyr relies entirely on plot armor and the script refusing to let other character ask obvious questions. The one 'obvious' question that did get asked was then handwaved by having a Vale Lord's own troops show more loyalty to Sweetrobin and Baelish than to their personal liege. No other obvious follow-up questions were asked, nor any declaration of how utter bullshit the 'explination' was for Sansa being with the Boltons. No follow-ups to where LF went, why he and his men showed no signs of being attacked, why they didn't fight to the death to protect someone of higher status that was in their care, or why LF's own marriage plan never gets mentioned again. Nope, Sweetrobin is distracted by a Falcon and could care less about throwing a loyal retainer out the Moondoor. But that isn't the hard part to swallow, its the fact that Royce is very much aware of Sweetrobin's demeanor, as would be his troops, and outside of a meeting with other Vale Lords they'd largely ignore his 'demands' out of loyalty to his reign. If it got out that Sweetrobin was just ordering his Lord's own men to kill their lieges, based on the suggestion of an outsider/upstart like Petyr, the Vale Lords would revolt, not with the intention of killing Sweetrobin, but of removing LF's influence. Again, the plot/script just ignores this, makes everyone around the protagonist a mind-numbed sheep for the sole purpose of making the protagonist look effective. tormond
We know that littlefinger set up the starks vs lannisters but did he choose the lannister side from the get go or did decide after ned arrived in king's landing. Im asking because when everything started, the lannisters were at disadvantage, they were two armies maybe three against them. If rob had not been so stupid, not made all of his mistakes and talked with Renty, they would had finished off the lannisters right away.
