StoneColdJorahMormont
Varys is not one to have the wool pulled over his eyes... and while rewatching when he is convincing shae to leave for her own good and tyrions. He mentions that he knows that she is truely in love with him and not love that is bought by gold but a genuine love. Did he fall for it like tyrion did ? or did he just play along to make his plan seem like it he was thinking about her best interests ?
Future Null Infinity
I read some posts mentioning that in the books Shae is a gold digger but in the show she have a genuine love for Tyrion so no, Varys didn't get fooled by Shae
Back in Black-Snow
I think Varys was just trying to use reverse psychology on her. I don't think Varys was fooled, although Tyrion was, even against his better judgment. I saw her betrayal hinted at from the beginning of their "relationship". It was no surprise to me.
