Where in the seven hells is Varys? (many spoilers)

On the way through the hidden passages Tyrion discovers the secret entrance to his former residence, the Tower of the Hand. Varys warns him not to go that way, but of course Tyrion goes. We all know that he murders Shae and Tywin.

But my main question is this, did Varys lead Tyrion past the hidden entrance to allude to murdering Tywin? Also, where did Varys flee to after delivering Tyrion to the docks?

I've heard little theories that say Varys is hiding below King's Landing. It makes sense because that's where Arya accidentally overhears and sees Illyrio and Varys playing theĀ game of thrones. Varys is also revealed to assassinate Kevan and it mentions him coming from below ground.

Where is Varys actually hiding at?

It is pretty likely that Varys deliberately put Tyrion into a position to recognize where he was when they were beneath the Tower of the Hand, yes, intending for him to actually climb up there, see Tywin and Shae and murder them.

Varys and his little birds would indeed hide down in the underground well from which Varys and Illyrio ascended in AGoT. The little birds clearly emptied the Tower of the Hand long before Jaime began his search or Cersei began to tear it down.

Another hint where Varys might have spend a lot of his spare time after ASoS is given by his disguise at the end of the book. He wears the clothes of a begging brother, suggesting that Varys was the person orchestrating the rise of the Sparrow Movement and the new High Septon.

Yeah. This is all true. I have another question about Varys though. Does he send Shadrich out before he goes into hiding or after?

Considering that Brienne left KL before Varys disappeared and Tywin was murdered one should assume he sent him out prior to that, too. After all, Brienne meets him on the road to Duskendale.

Of course only if one assumes Shadrich is working for Varys. But there is a pretty good chance that he is actually a former little mouse considering his age (back in Pentos Varys and Illyrio wouldn't have yet cut the tongues of all their little spies, and they might still not do that in every case).
