It appears "they" are remaking everything.

I'm waiting for the announcement of the remakes of Buffy and the Indiana Jones movies -- shouldn't that be enough for an uprising?

The new Indiana Jones moving is being called a "requel" (whatever the hell that means) and wasn't the Buffy show pretty much a reboot of the movie already?

A requel is surely a remake (new cast) that is a sequel at least to the original movie. So 'Indiana Jones and the [insert adventury sounding thing here]' is a movie with an entirely new cast that takes place X years after Raiders of the Lost Arc and/or Temple of Doom and/or the Last Crusade and/or The Order of the Phoenix  I will pretend that ridiculous other movie never happened.

I guess technically a movie set at a time somewhere between the 3 legitimate Indiana Jones movies with an entirely new cast would be called a re-pre-sequel.

Isn't that a reboot? :P

Why not, its not like Hollywood has any further to sink.

Also there's a rumor floating that they will be remaking the 60's era "F-Troop" with the hologram of John Wayne......

Okay thats my rumor....I just thought it sounded par for the course for the trash level content being foisted on the public.

There were some reports a few years ago that whoever had the film rights was planning a reboot, without any involvement from Whedon. Thankfully, the idea seems to have sunk back into the Development Hellmouth.

since they couldn't get Richard Dean Anderson to return, rumor has it Louis Anderson is going to take the role..

IIRC Richard Dean Anderson started out in acting somewhat respectably doing a bit of porn, then took a backwards career step into MacGyver, but managed to recover by moving on to Stargate.
