Apples and oranges. One affects one game of the season another affects, potentially depending on contracts, multiple seasons. Like I'm fine with an IR slot but changes to roster composition should in my mind be done before a draft not after.

I hear you, but it is literally apples to apples. This decision would only effect this season one way or the other if we're going to adopt it next season going forward. The game that was already played may be somewhat smaller in scope, but it will also only effect this season. If you look at the point totals already accrued from this one game, it has likely given at least a couple of players a win. That could be a huge factor as far as making the playoffs.

My draft decisions were made explicitly with the knowledge that players who'd played the night before were eligible AND the knowledge that an IR player would eat a regular slot.  The value of IR players was generated in a market wherein the knowledge that part of the cost of getting them was giving up a slot.  With different rules, they had different values.

In that vein, The Harlaw Ironmen are pleased to tentatively offer the following contracts.  These contracts will become finalized as edited before the last player has declared contracts.

Harlaw Ironmen
1.     (4)     Vance McDonald (Pit - TE)     $2 (1 year contract)

8.     (97)     Evan Engram (NYG - TE)         $3 (4 year contract)

16.     (210)     Delanie Walker (Ten - TE)     $2 - 1 more year
17.     (211)     DeAndre Hopkins (Hou - WR)     $2 - Contract Expiring - Safe Travels, Nuk!

Yeah, I get that distinction. We all went into the draft knowing the Pats/Chiefs numbers would count. That said, how many IR players were drafted? I can only recall 2. At any rate, I vote that we enact an IR spot this season, for what it's worth. Here is the lineup and contracts for The Otisburg Yambags.

1. (1) Arizona (Ari - DEF) $2 - 1 year contract
2. (17) Tyreek Hill (KC - WR) $24-4 year contract
3. (40) Davante Adams (GB - WR) $18-1 year contract
4. (49) Matthew Stafford (Det - QB) $17-2 year contract
5. (61) Martellus Bennett (GB - TE) $3-2 year contract
6. (66) Matt Bryant (Atl - K) $2 -1 year contract
7. (75) Doug Martin (TB - RB) $13-1 year contract
8. (78) Alvin Kamara (NO - RB) $6 -4 year contract
9. (95) James White (NE - RB) $1 -4 year contract
10. (106) Robby Anderson (NYJ - WR) $2 -4 year contract
11. (110) Corey Davis (Ten - WR) $7 -4 year contract
12. (112) Taylor Gabriel (Atl - WR) $3 -1 year contract
13. (114) John Ross (Cin - WR) $9 -4 year contract
14. (121) Sterling Shepard (NYG - WR) $4 -4 year contract
15. (123) Paul Richardson (Sea - WR)

$1 -4 year contract

16. (141) Terrance Williams  (Dal - WR) $1-contract expiring
17. (142) Jay Ajayi  (Mia - RB) $1-1 more year
18. (143) Travis Kelce  (KC - TE) $15-contract expiring
19. (144) T.Y. Hilton  (Ind - WR) $6-contract expiring
20. (145) Todd Gurley II  (LAR - RB) $23-1 more year
21. (146) Eli Manning  (NYG - QB) $13-contract expiring
22. (147) Dak Prescott  (Dal - QB) $13-2 more years

I also want to add that I think this was the best Dynasty draft I've seen over the years.  Teams historically overspent on midrange veterans and left the second tier rookie prospects to be grabbed at $1 each.  Not so much here.  Super-steals were harder to find.  I hope I got one or two.  But even those were $2-4 not $1.

Yeah, it was pretty tight. I don't feel like I got a clear cut steal anywhere, really. All the potential steals are crap shoots. Hopefully a couple of them pan out.

Why are FAs not available in this league? I thought you could always add/drop players until KO Sunday?

ETA - if we can't add players, I'm gonna be running no K or DST week 1, I guess, and I want to change Carlos Henderson from 1 year to 4 years, as the only reason he's 1 year is to drop him for a K or DST this week.

Incoming Contracts:

Michael Crabtree - 8 (1 years)
Larry Fitzgerald - 8 (2 years)
DeSean Jackson - 7 (2 years)
Josh Doctson - 5 (2 years)
Jared Goff - 4 (3 years)
Terrance West - 3 (2 years)
Ty Montgomery - 1 (2 years)
Trevor Simien - 1 (3 years)

New Contracts:

Julio Jones - 39 (2 years)

Ben Roethlisberger - 17 (1 year)

Mike Glennon - 1 (1 year)

Curtis Samuel - 5 (3 years)

Andrew Luck - 23 (3 years)

OJ Howard - 4 (3 years)

Ted Ginn Jr - 2 (1 year)

Marlon Mack - 7 (2 years)

Carlos Henderson - 2 (1 year)

Mike Williams - 2 (4 years)

Wendell Smallwood - 3 (2 years)

Marshawn Lynch - 18 (1 year)

Mitchell Trubisky - 10 (3 years)

Deonta Foreman - 3 (3 years)

If we were to have an IR slot, I'd take Carlos Henderson at 4 years and stick him there, but I gotta add a defense and a kicker...

ETA - as mentioned above, if FAs are closed right now (which, it's not letting me pick up a K, only make a waiver bid for tomorrow), I want Henderson at 4 years for $2 and I guess I just punt week 1

So what's the rule for editing contracts that were already posted? I'm assuming what Bronn posted upthread was legit. That we can edit up until the point that the last team posts their contracts. I just changed Taylor Gabriel from 4 years to 1 year if this is not the case, I will switch it back.

Contracts are due before the first game in week 2.  thought I posted that.  So Thursday.

I will make edits tomorrow - can't get onto Yahoo while I am logged into my work account.

I am for an IR spot, but get why we don't do it.  Would people be in favor if we say people drafted that are on the IR currently are not eligible?  So I would not be able to put Meredith on it this season, but if one of my players during the season get injured i can move them?  I think there really should be at least one slot in this format.

Blu-Ray - were you able to get a D and a Kicker?  They all should have moved to FA this morning prior to the first game.

I was not and they did not - I was trying at ~noon EST yesterday to pick them up, but it would only let me submit a Waiver bid to be processed today (Monday, Sept 11).

...still gonna beat you, though :-P

I am mixing up my leagues, the keeper league had waivers close Sunday morning, this one would have been 2 days after the draft or Monday (which is why I spent $1 on a kicker and D).

Who do you want to add?  I can see if I can get them on your team somehow.  Or maybe if you add them now I can retroactively put them on your team?  Maybe add a D and kicker for tonight?

Everyone on my team did so poorly.
