Arkhangel Posted October 2, 2016 Share Posted October 2, 2016 I would ask your new boss to alter the wording of the letter to reflect the fact that you believed you had quit and your previous employer believed you had been terminated - so that, whilst your former employer had the intention to fire you (which is what your current employer is really interested in with that question, not which of you was quicker on the draw in the final meeting), you at least did not set out to deceive them with your application. DireWolfSpirit Posted October 2, 2016 Share Posted October 2, 2016 Also unless you committed theft or had a physical alteration in that previous job ( which i'm presuming wasnt the case ) you were likely entitled to unemployment insurance after that discharge. Even if you didnt need the money, which i'm assuming is the case if you didnt apply for your benefits, you still would have had the option of donating the proceeds to a charitable cause at least.
