Seriously, NFL? GO FUCK YOURSELF.

Quote

Molly alleged that she was subject to "cutting comments" from Josh on that trip, and that he took her phone and searched through her texts, according to the police report. She also alleged that one night he got drunk and pounded on her door so loudly that NFL security and hotel security were called and had to escort Josh away. She also alleged that the NFL eventually put her and her kids up in a different hotel "where Josh would not know where they were," the police report said.

ONE FUCKING GAME SUSPENSION. The Giants have apparently not let him go to London - not because he is being punished, but because the story broke. And this was after NFL security actually moved her to another room.

and if you think this is hearsay, nope:

There's more over on SI and profootballtalk, but...seriously - this organization fucking sucks so much ass.

I was coming to post this myself. Here's a USA Today column:

Quote

Brown's acknowledgment that he abused his former wife renewed outrage over his lax suspension. So, naturally, the NFL on Thursday tried to shift the blame to Brown’s former wife and law enforcement, saying they had refused to cooperate with the league's investigation. Charges against Brown were never filed.

But the league was aware when it suspended Brown that Molly Brown had told police her husband had abused her more than 20 times in recent years. It also had its own records from the Pro Bowl, when NFL security was called after Josh Brown showed up at his estranged wife's hotel room and the league later moved Molly Brown and her children to another, undisclosed hotel.

"The whole thing bothered me," Mara acknowledged.

Two days after Brown was suspended, the New York Daily News published 911 calls along with Molly Brown's statement to police about the May 2015 incident and the other allegations of abuse. USA TODAY Sports and ESPN obtained similar records, with ESPN noting that police had been called twice to the couple's apartment in Hoboken, N.J.

A week after Brown was suspended, documents revealed that he’d violated a protective order two months after his arrest in the 2015 case.

What more did the NFL need? A video tape?

With a crack investigative team created solely for the purpose of connecting the dots in cases such as these, it begs the question of how the NFL could be caught so unaware. Or why it vigorously pursues some cases, suing prosecutors to get access to evidence against Hardy, for example, while barely lifting a finger in others.

“Molly was very upfront that in her experience, the NFL publicly says that they have a no tolerance policy on domestic violence, but the reality is that they do more crisis management and look to cover things up," King County (Wash.) Detective Robin Ostrum wrote in her follow-up report.

This is worse than Ray Rice. This is not just pretending you never saw the videotape or could not have been aware of what happened in an elevator after a man drags his unconscious fiance out. This is an active cover-up to minimize the sins of a monstrous kicker on a shitheel team with a shitheel owner who called in PR coverage from his shitheel buddy of a commissioner.

Fuck the Giants, fuck the Maras, fuck Goodell, fuck the NFL, fuck Josh Brown. Fuck the whole rotten hypocritical structure. How do they even fucking rationalize a one-game suspension when the baseline is six? Oh right, because they covered up the fact that the suspension was over domestic violence.

What does it take to get incompetent, ass-covering assholes fired in this rotten shithouse of a league?

I made a rant in the off-season that they keep fucking with the kickoff instead of eliminating it because of the free commercial. They don't give a fuck about safety.

And why can't you get PM's? I'm trying to talk business with you.

The board should alert you when your PM box is full. Fixed. Please send over your offers.

Just remember, Riverrun NEVER LOSES in the books, in FFL, in trades.

Bummer for Hoyer, and for robbing us of the seemingly guaranteed experience of watching Cutler skulking on the sideline as the backup of Hoyer.

Seeing him sulk behind Barkley might be better...

They really need to scrap TNF.  Maybe go for a Monday night double header with an earlier game or something, but it's clear the lack of time to prepare and heal from last week affects the product.  And then they need to add an element of flex scheduling to the primetime games, even if it's 2-3 weeks in advance.  At least then we get Dallas Packers games in primetime instead of Jags Titans.

I believe that every team now plays at least one Thursday night game so all teams get a primetime game. I don't think it makes any sense to put bad teams on in primetime, but hey, it's the nfl...

We playing in Outlaw or B? I'm getting crushed in Outlaw. It's more than a little embarrassing.

Outlaw. Keep in mind I'm missing 4 of my top 5 picks, two of them are on IR, and my QB1 is Big Ben. It's kind of amazing that I've won 2 games.

Well, it's hard for me to feel sorry for anyone in that league. I've got the 4th highest points scored, but the highest points against and it's not even close. So here I sit at 0-6.

The Josh Brown thing is literally exactly the same thing as the Ray Rice deal where the NFL knew exactly what he did. Nothing new has come out here, just Brown admitting that he's a psychopath, which we already knew from his actions.

I posted this when the 1 game suspension broke before the season, and it rings even truer now. Why in the ever living fuck did they risk political capital and their public image for A FUCKING KICKER. How can you be that incompetent? I get it, the NFL does not care about anything or anyone outside of $$$. But how in the fuck is there no one in that organization bright enough to realize that Josh Brown the kicker is the perfect candidate to be thrown under the bus. How can you be that incompetent to not realize this was exactly what was going to happen?

It's worse actually.  It's pretty clear they knew Brown was a repeat offender.  Everything I've ever heard is that Rice was a model citizen before the drunk night in Vegas. I'm not saying what Rice did wasn't wrong.  But it is nowhere as bad in my mind as a guy who does it over and over.

It's worse than the Ray Rice thing on a lot of levels.

  • Josh Brown had a history of DV
  • Josh Brown admitted this
  • Brown's wife was taken to another hotel room BY THE NFL
  • Mara admits he knew all of this
  • Mara signed him AFTER HE FOUND THIS OUT
  • The NFL suspended Brown one game because they were hiding the reason for it - DV
  • AND IT'S FUCKING DOMESTIC VIOLENCE AWARENESS MONTH

Seriously, the NFL knew that Brown did this, helped his wife escape him, reported on it and then covered it up so that he only got a one-game suspension.

Fuck them. Fuck the Giants players sticking behind Brown too.
